Thing is why not contact trade-level magazines and inform them about the horrors of DDR X compared to previous DDR's from a punter's point of view.

I don't think we need to discuss the quality of the Betson machines. I'm pretty sure I'm nowhere near a DDR X machine yet I can hear them sucking from where I'm at.

Or it could be that I still have my DDR X in the PS2. No wait, it's not.

If anyone is interested, CoinOpExpress is selling several assorted dedicated arcade machines; several which include a JP DDR X machine for the price of $6,500 USD and a JP Supernova dedicated cabinet for $3,295USD. Not sure if the shipping is including, but it's probably worth checking it out.

How are they...quality-wise? Et cetera...

DDR X, have horrible music (licences, KOs are incredible awful), horrible interface (the stages really suck).... I just hope the next mix have better music... if not I officially leave DDR.

I like the stages a lot on X. If theyd just fix the pads, I'd be happy since I could play the old songs with the awesome screen and HD. Lol as I was playing today, I noticed what people mean when they complain that it seems like the pads are made of wood.

Sadly though, the only new song I like that I'm able to play is On the Break. I would play Saber Wing, but it's probably easier to get to OMES on Extreme than even get the Extra Stage on this X machine. Which I cannot do either.

That annoucer...holy crap that announcer. Before I thought people were overreacting and that it was only mildly annoying, but I was playing X yet again today and it is actually both embarrasing and very very distracting with that guy shouting at you. He is sooooo loud and infuriatingly corney. My guess is that whoever authorized those voices was on shrooms or something.

Something I noticed is that the Dance Drill Courses only go up to 5 on the machine. And even that one is hardly worth playing...

DDR X is horrible because:

-The Licences suck, not good licences since Konami leave their alliance with Dancemania.

-The new K.O.s really **** me off ... we don't want Bill Hamell, Jena Rose, Tommie Sunshine like Bemani artist.. i want Osamu Migitera, Beatnation Records Crew, more Naoki, more Tomosuke... we want real Bemani in house artist, only Darwin, sonic-coll, DKC Crew and Or-If-Is was a good choice, of course TAG is awesome.

-The interface is like a mix of all the worst things i ever seen in a DDR, the stages are borings, I don't want more characters, i like the Background Videos for Konami Original songs : Saber Wing, Taj He Spitz, Flourish, etc... instead of characters use BGA, like in Max 1, 2 and Extreme (the 3 best DDR mixes ever).

-Unlocks sucks too... you need reach lvl 838762345834639 for unlock a ring for a character... seriously WTF!, that's actually a unlock?? that ring make more powerfull or gimme more skill for clear a song???.

-The Only thing i really like from DDR X is the new JAPANESE cabinet, i don't wanna talk about Betson's Cabinet, JAPANESE cabinet looks so nice, larger screen, USB ports, e-Amuse, and the lights, yeah maybe kinda distracting but they're very nice.

DDR is the most commercial and well know Bemani game in the world, i guess they need put good stuff in it, like Beatmania IIDX. I gonna quit DDR if the next Arcade Mix is so awful like X. Yeah i'm QQing because that's exactly how i feel about DDR X.

The stages do suck...but SN had bad stages as well.
The licenses always, more than likely, suck as well, so I do not know what you are talking about.
Leave DDR...one less complaint is always nice...sometimes.
(Note it was IMO)

SN stages are pretty bad. But at least SN had more than 7!

Nothing wrong with some commissions, but with almost no Bemani artists to back it up....hmph.

That's generally what forums are for.

today was a good day. i played DDR X, about 8sets at 4 rounds each, give or take ES and OMES. all of a sudden one of the top Okinawa players I know, Seriosu rank #411 comes in to play. now i'm tired at this point but this wouldn't be the first time we battled with each other. the craziest thing was when it was to choosing from the rivals list and he actually had me on his list, which i thought was quite an honor. i mean i'm good, but i'm not that good. i still can't AA On The Break for all I'm worth but there are numerous songs I've AAA and probably hold a WR or two.

I can't speak very well in japanese but one language we both understand is DDR. Our first set I actually AAA the first 3 songs on songs I've only played once which is awesome. there is something about practicing and battling where you actually do better playing against someone. the next 2 sets after that I had a few wins and new scores but I knew I was to the point of exhaustion so i called it quits. Now that I know I'm his current Top Rival I need to defend the rest of my top scores on the machine.

While Extreme was a great mix, I like to move on. I love SN2 much more than Extreme. Better graphics, better sound, Marvelous timing, larger song selection, more challenge courses (though the non stops blow), some of the best doubles charts ever, etc, etc. I look forward to X once the conversion kits are out. That will be so schweet.
