I guess this is an unlikely yet opportune time for me to state that Fusion is actually BETTER than X in many ways.

Fusion was a complete god-send at the time. We got :

* A new DDR machine, after Konami had announced that Extreme would be the last arcade release.

* Konami holding a poll to ask players which Konami Original songs they wanted, and most of the highly requested songs getting included, even the ones with japanese vocals.

* Something like 20 songs that weren't on any other DDR machine.

* DDR Extreme CS songs in an arcade game.

* New pads that felt like the Solo Bass Mix pads.

* Extra Stage and One More Extra Stage.

* 5 guaranteed songs for a pound, on every single machine in the country.

I know EuroMIX 2 and SuperNOVA both put it to shame, but it was pretty much great at the time, when we were already bored of DDR Extreme, and needed something to tide us over, until DDR SuperNOVA.

I can't possibly stress how awesome it was to walk into bowling alleys, and get 5 songs for a credit, every single time.

Every one I have played has been 3. Except for once at East Mids airport which had 4. That's it.
Also, whilst Fusion was a good AC, I can't help but be disappointed by the fact that we got less in the AC then the PS2 version.

I don't know what arcades you go to Tyma, every Fusion I've played on is a standard 3 song set.

What IS the OMES for Fusion actually? I've never actually seen it.

I've never got an ES...maybe I keep playing Paranoia survivor as my final stage too often.

Ah xenon. For the less able people, three songs is all we'd get most of the time. PARANOiA survivor is still not the easiest of songs to clear to get a guaranteed 5 song set. So that point is not a good one to be honest. Tongue Forced 5 normal stages would be a better one.

Yes, but on all the machines I've played, you can select PS and xenon at the Final Stage.

At the time, for players who had played EuroMIX 2 and DDR Extreme to death, that was a really nice bonus. If you could pass Paranoia Survivor on DDR Extreme, then you'd almost always AA it on Fusion, because the game was so leniant late steps.

DS Fusion One More Extra Stage was like a loyalty card : If you've played DDR for a few years, then you get 2 free stages, whenever you play Big Grin

It was also much, MUCH easier than Maxx Unlimited or Legend Of Max, which a few UK players had passed on Extra Stage, but I don't think anyone consistantly AA to get the OMES. If I remember, Fusion doesn't force 1.5x reverse, either, so you didn't have to memorise it, or bar rape it.

Wrong. Fusion does force those mods. And Fusion is 95% perceived as EARLY rather than late.

I would have got it just now (just checked Derby Tenpin), but the pads are awful. Normally, one pad miss is excusable. FORTY aren't.

Fusion didnt have OMES, i got 4 greats on paranoia survivor on extra stage (and yes it is 1.5x reverse vivid to back alans post up) and you dont get a OMES. only on the CS version and even then its just Xenon

Nah, no need. 100% sure of it now, there is no One More Extra Stage.

Anyway, we REALLY should get back to discussing how sucky these new X cabs are. Devil
