So, someone at r21freak pointed out why X US pads suck so bad. Each arrow only has one sensor, instead of the normal 4. It's the inner sensor, next to the center panel. You can test this by pressing at the edges of the panel to see if it lights up. Notice that it only lights when you press next to the center panel, and then only sometimes. If you think irt's bad for singles play, consider it an even bigger middle finger up to doubles players, who often end up hitting the center or even outter edges of some of the panels.

Why try to reinvent DDR? The only things that really change from game to game are the graphics and the songs. It's so easy to give the people what they want:

...well this is odd.
Apparently an arcade in Hawaii has an upgraded DDR X conversion kit set up from what appears to be an Extreme AC...not sure if they got it from JP or the US just might be starting to sell the upgrade kits, but eh, don't really know for sure just WHERE they got the kit from >_>.

Green, sensors are there.
Red, sensors are missing.
Hitting the outer edges other than the centre edge will most likely not register as easily on a pad with those sensors.
It's the worst bullshit I've heard about the pads in these shitty new DDR cabs.

haven't the pads been opened already? I know some people did it in PA and I dont remember them claiming 1 senso per pad. I think it would be their first mention about opening it.

My question is, is the machine designed only to use one sensor or are the sensors in the three other slots simply not there?

My guess, it's probably only circuited to work with one sensor as it was intentional.
I'm not sure how normal DDR cabs work and if people could wire up more than one sensor by changing the circuitry.
