I think MFCs should be hard to get but achievable. Shrinking the timing window would just make something already hard to get even more challenging.

It just looks easier to get now because the best players were the ones taking videos and would've been getting MFCs with their 10 perfect runs if the engine were correct, so now their video records show them getting those best scores. They're still a strict minority of the playerbase and so there's no point to a further rank mode that would just divide player records even more and only be useful to like 2 dozen players at most.

MFCs are literally frame perfect plays of songs. Keep in mind that in any other genre of game, a single frame perfect trick is considered incredible to be able to execute consistently. An MFC is doing this literally hundreds of times with your feet. Unless by the year 21XX those melee robots all cross over to DDR, I sincerely doubt that we'll ever hit a point where MFCs are too easy and too many unskilled players are getting them or whatever.
A judgement above marvelous could work I suppose, but I don't see the point in adding a new achievement that's basically impossible to get unless by a complete miracle. It already looks impossible to even PFC the hardest songs, so making something above the thing that's above that seems a bit silly to me.
If the people up top who get crazy MFCs care enough, they can always just set up an arcade machine to boot up that one stepmania build that uses wife score and have their ms based timing that rewards them for doing even better than an MFC, but they haven't done that because they don't see it as necessary right now. As it stands, there's accomplishments yet to come in the current system, there's not a whole lot of people can even PFC let alone MFC somewhat challenging songs consistently, and I feel this system is fine for now. The only thing I'd be interested in seeing changed is instead of a number score having a percent score since it's just easier for someone unfamiliar with the game's scoring system to understand. If we ever actually reach that hypothetical point where MFCs are too easy for an average joe to get, then we can start considering changes to the system.

Not until 18s start to be MFCd on a regular basis by more than three people, no.
Maybe in the future they'll add a judgement beyond Marvellous. It'd be an easier thing to do than nerf high-scores just to tighten the timing windows at least.

I guess you could potentially add a "Ridiculous" timing window similar to StepMania 3.9. I have conceived what that may look like in my head, but I'll spare you the details for now.

Will chocolate philosophy use its ultra mix 3 steps...?
Nice to see High School Love (finally!) get a proper ddr treatment. Not Winx Club, first rule of Winx Club is not to talk about Winx Club.

Doubt it. They haven't used anything from the ultramix/universe games since that handful of Universe 3 songs in X2, and made a new chart for Kind Lady when there already was one in Universe 3.
By the way, I don't understand why there haven't been more recognition of those series in arcade games. Is it just that there weren't corresponding games in Japan? It just feels like they're sitting on a lot of good material that they just aren't using.

I think they would need to re-license/do something with the copyright of the songs of the Xbox games. I'm sure KONAMI owns the steps the Xbox team did, but there's always the chance they don't (like the original steps for PARANOiA ETERNAL), and if they don't, it would be cheaper or easier to just make new steps themselves.
Also, the Xbox team has been dead for years, so the staff no longer works at KONAMI and I doubt they went through the trouble of saving their data.
But I just think the JP team just really doesn't want to use the content of the gaijin team!

With High School Love finally getting its proper DDR treatment after being thrown haphazardly into Winx Club, I'm HONESTLY praying that 0/1 ANGEL will have the same fate sometime...Nice to see High School Love (finally!) get a proper ddr treatment. Most likely not. Remember, when starmine crossed over to DDR 2014, it used new charts instead of the ULTRAMIX2 charts. The same will most likely go with High School Love.

This is probably true. It's totally possible they lost the licensing/copyrights at some point, because the last thing to include the Xbox songs in any way was, uh, DDR Pocket Edition. I guess I'm just hoping that they still have them in some fashion.Post #6114 · Posted at 2018-01-30 05:09:40pm 6.3 years ago
It's actually interesting. They did bring in some of Big Idea's songs/charts from Ultramix 2 however (Monkey Punk, Baile la Samba), as well as MAX300 (Super-Max-Me Mix) which was also given an additional challenge chart, but I think it's also because of the time they were brought over.
Starmine and Chocolate Philosophy are Bemani originals that, while they did have charts before in the Ultramix series, have been redone entirely (new graphics and charts), but both are more recent additions (recent as in new scale/jacket era), while the songs I mentioned previously were originals for the Ultramix series and also added to DDR AC/Str!ke in that same generation.
One other thing to note is that MAX.(period) did actually have an Oni chart back in Extreme JP CS, but it was replaced to the chart we have in DDR now, though this is probably because the Oni chart was actually easier than the ESP because it was created specifically for the course mode it was in, while the current one was made more with the Extra Stage event it had in mind. It would have been interesting if they kept it though, because it would be similar to Sakura CSP with it also being easier than ESP which was unique at the time it was released.
With this in mind, when is G2 coming to DDR AC as well? :V

DDRA really should add a CS folder or something. Really weird to see stuff like MAKE A JAM! in the newest folder.

I think that's more of a decision to make it front and center with the new songs in the Ace folder (more casual players are likely to play them vs. having to dig through older mix folders first). I'm pretty certain in the next version, Determination will move back to the 2014 folder and Make a Jam will go back to the 2nd or 3rd Mix folder(depending on how they'll lump 2nd mix CS/link version).

Would this be less umm... debatable?
Do you think it's fair that your score (MFC, something that a whole lot of stepcharts on all difficulties have atm), after working so hard to MFC the song, get taken down by someone who pretty much scored the same as you? The highest score possible?
How many people are able to MFC or single digit perfect songs? I honestly can't and don't wish to focus on it much, but it would be a bit unfair IMO that high scores should get restricted to one point after it gets maxed out...

All of these were actually in Supernova CS or Strike CS, and MAX 300 actually had a challenge chart before it was ported over to SN AC.

That's literally how high scores work VGS. Very few people are able to MFC songs, much fewer can do it consistantly. Also, when you get a MFC, the world record for that song becomes yours until someone else gets it, so it's not like you don't get your moment in the limelight.

this is not even within the same ballpark as an MFC, there is a world of difference between an SDP and an MFC
again, where are you getting this notion that hitting every single note on one exact frame is in any realm of "too easy"?
