What's the schedule of this KAC expected to be after January 9? Guessing exact dates haven't been revealed yet, but is it possible to extrapolate from previous KACs?

I think after this, there's nothing else until the finals, which presumably will be at JAEPO like in previous years (which this year is February 9-11).

There's no semifinals? Just straight qualifiers -> finals?

There are semi qualifiers for the West Japan and East Japan regions at some point before JAEPO. I think top 7 from each of those two regions face off in some sort of competition. Dates are on the KAC website.

Also speaking to Be a Hero and Reach The Sky Without you, there's something on Be a Hero's announcement (a date range) that may imply that its presence is only temporary (until like right after JAEPO in mid February). Reach The Sky seems like it's here to stay.

Unrelated: Does anyone know anything about Thank You Merry Christmas? It's currently still in the game and I don't know whether they decided to have it stay or not. In the previous three years, they always removed it before the new year.

FWIW, this is more a problem with the website, because for whatever reason it's still using information from last year's KAC. It's easy to see where he's getting this from, but it's still annoying.

Changes on the 7th KAC:
JAPAN: now is divided in 2 parts: North area and South area.
ASIA: Cover Hong Kong (Macao), Taiwan, Singapore, Phillippines, Thailand and Indonesia.
KOREA: New category.
NA: Cover USA and Canada

This isn't even about that, I can shit on DEGRS and VDO for being stupid and unfun but at least you have some merit of subjectiveness there, however small.

To wave off sync like it's not one of the most crucial parts of a simfile just makes zero sense to me, it's utterly antithetical to the point of rhythm games. You can argue MA'ing to offsync stuff is a skill, I'd argue it's a dumb crutch to learn to combat a problem that shouldn't really be there in the first place.
