Also I'll point out by the change of the same member wins both tournaments, runner up of the singles bracket will take the 2nd spot for being SC 2014 admins.
Why just the runner-up of Singles? It wouldn't be fair to the runner-up of Doubles.

I dislike the idea of defaulting to Singles. If one member wins 1st place in both brackets (singles/doubles), then why not treat it like a tie? If winner voted more in the singles bracket then the winner will take that spot; if the winner voted more in the doubles bracket then the winner takes that spot.
I believe this approach would be better for following tournaments as participation will eventually even out for both brackets.
It really grates me how everything else relies on votes but for the important feature of the tournament to have a default set-up. You're basically encouraging one bracket over the other for the prize.

Will SC2014 have double-only rounds because of this shifting?

I really did not plan on it, plus it would be twice the work to set up.

The reason previous tournaments had doubles-only themes was because there weren't many people around that wrote doubles charts; it was essentially treated as a gimmicky theme.
Having a doubles bracket only means that more people have a chance at winning, with six winners overall instead of three.

Anybody wanna help me out with the banner/background this time? (PM me if interested)
I also need someone to examine the audio file I will be using (I honestly have no idea what you guys on here consider good quality), and tell me if it's good enough or not. (If anyone's interested PM me with your email address, and I'll email you the audio file).

Good quality = music files that don't sound like garbage. No bass boosting, no volume boosting, you should be able to easily find a nice quality audio source using Google... unless you're stepping some weirdo obscure song.
Also, graphics aren't required.

The song I have in mind is one that seemed widely available in the StepMania community a few years ago, thanks to simfile databases like FFR & Bemanistyle. But ever since BOTH databases disappeared, all of a sudden, it's like there's absolutely no simfiles of this song ANYWHERE. In short, I have no clue where I'm going to get a good quality audio file of that song, and believe me, I HAVE tried.
The song I have in mind is basically Healing Vision RMX by Qurter (from Diverse System).

If winner voted more in the singles bracket then the winner will take that spot; if the winner voted more in the doubles bracket then the winner takes that spot.
How about those who voted both in the Singles and the Doubles bracket for the whole time? Considering there are one more Singles round than Doubles, will they automatically represent Singles?
Anyway, my suggestion for that occasion is to compare the percentage of Final Round's votes they received compared to the total between both brackets.
For example:
Singles: A vs B. A got 10 votes, B got 6. A got 62.5% of all votes.
Doubles: A vs C. A got 7 votes, C got 2. A got 77.7% of all votes.
Even though A received less votes in Doubles than in Singles (granted, more people voted in the Singles bracket), the percentage is higher. This means that A's file is more favourable in the Doubles crowd rather than the Singles crowd, and should be the representative of that bracket.
If the percentage obtained are the same for both brackets, compare the previous non-bye rounds of both brackets until there is one with a higher percentage of votes.

I do like the idea of counting votes and other "participation points" as a final tiebreaker over "Singles because it has more people". Those who have been active throughout the comp, even if they don't win. deserve it more than someone who has coasted along and only completed the absolute minimum.

Is it just me, or does this tournament lack boss song material? (Things like Anti-Matter, New Decade, deltaMAX, etc;)
Incidentally, my original intention was not to make a boss song out of this entry, but due to the song length, step counts, and other factors, the outcome proved otherwise.

not many people would enjoy boss/hard files. it's safer (in a way) to go for the middle, more people will enjoy it. though if you're sure people will enjoy your boss file, go for it. also out of those examples, i don't see many people enjoying New Decade and/or deltaMAX.
also fix your file name, it's supposed to be [Round 3 Doubles].

[ELECTRO HOUSE] encX - "Night Trip"
BPM: 131
SN: 1 | SE: 3 | SM: 5 | SH: 8
DN: – | DE: 6 | DM: 7 | DH: 8
What's really funny is that Silverhawke coincidentially mentioned in the chat last week or so how interesting a chart this song might make, and I was like, "yeah I got that sh*p in my WIP folder". and then I only had four days to finish it
I apologize for the banner mismatch, but the official art (see jacket and BG) didn't give me any crop options :}
