Classic Scale - 5
ITG Scale - 1
Extended ITG Scale - 3
DDR X scale - 13
Mungyodance Scale - 0
Algorithmic Scale ("StomperZ", etc.) - 3
GF/DM Scale - 1
DDR X scale is okay. But for some reason, GF/DM Scale is better. I rate Max 300 as 78 and Xepher as 76 despite that these are both 15 on X Scale.

GFDM scale is basically Mungyodance but only going up to 99, though. (Unless you wanna count the, like, one song that was rated ∞ but that's besides the point) XG scale might be better because that's 0.00 to 9.99, increasing usually by 0.05 (although I'm pretty sure there's that one song that has a 9.98, but I digress).

"X scale 20" |
Here's what I have to say about rating scales:
Classic Scale is OK if you're not going to step anything harder than an X scale 15, but no one should still be using this if you are going to step harder songs.
Extended ITG scale is good for really hard songs
X scale is what I'm currently using, and I have made several examples of 19's, 20's, and even some 21's.
Classic Scale - 5
ITG Scale - 1
Extended ITG Scale - 3
DDR X scale - 14
Mungyodance Scale - 0
Algorithmic Scale ("StomperZ", etc.) - 3
GF/DM Scale - 1

Going with DDR X scale myself. I feel like it is a good linear progression although I wonder what will happen after you run out of 20s in the future? (not for a while I know we haven't even hit 20 yet)

The X-Scale is generally the most precise on ratings and provides a better balance between the issues that plagued the 9 & 10 ratings on Classic scale.

I like how Extended ITG magically lost two points since last page.

Can someone explain why one would prefer the classic DDR or ITG scale over the new/extended ones? maybe it's written earlier in the thread I'll take a look
Anyway, I prefer the "extended ITG scale" only because I'm used to it. Honestly an extended ddr scale seems like it might be better (algorithmic scale can work for straightforward charts like stream or footspeed, idk how well it works for charts in the 9-12 region)

My opinion, the X-Scale would be perfect if it didn't go to an unattainable difficulty (20). I say, make the scale go from 1 to 18+.
I also dislike Extended ITG, because it tries to make charts like Ver^Tex 2 (rated 12) look like they're cheating the system. Seriously, some charts rated 13 here on Zenius would not dream of that ranking if put in the original ITG.
No vote from me, it's hard enough to rank songs as is.

So you're saying that no players are capable of playing 20s, or will in the future? I think the cap should by no means be lower than the highest level people can actually play at

There are people who can pad ITG 20s, let alone X-scale 20s.

Someone messed up. It should have only lost 1 point since one person changed their vote. Anyway I really like that there is room for harder song growth. Also if you want to contribute to this, they are breaking down DDR song levels into tiers:http://www.ddrcommunity.com/guides/2016/6/10/ddr-difficulty-tier-list
