The thing I'm trying to say is that being wildly consumed by any belief/cause/religion is very unhealthy. I'm also pretty certain that like, 70% of these people who change their Facebook photos, rainbow-ify their web pages, etc., don't really gave two shits about the gay community. Why? Because I haven't heard a thing from them about the genocide of gay people going on in the Middle East right now. Try speaking about their rights in Syria, Iraq, Iran, and see where that gets you.
Another thing I'm curious about is how many of you people cheering this thing on also agree with this phrase:
"Religion is like a penis. Don't swing it around in my face and don't shove it down my throat."
Replace religion with pride parade. What's different about it? I don't have to gay marry, that is correct. I also have the right to not have to have my eyes bombarded in bright colors when I want to talk to someone on Facebook.

Yup, clearly a LOT of work still needs to be done on gay rights, which answers your earlier question.

You have the right to unfriend people on Facebook.

You're trying to compare religion to an event. It's like comparing apples to oranges, its nonsensical and incomparable. Along with that those people have the right to go out, parade around and celebrate just like anyone has the right to go a church/mosque/temple. What's not acceptable however is someone trying to force their sexuality onto someone else just like how many people tend to do the same with religion which is what that phrase means. You seem to have over-exaggerated the meaning behind the phrase and instead extended it over to pride parades. I'm sorry they seem to bother you so much but there's no law saying you have to go to them just like theres no law saying you have to go to any of the aforementioned places of worship.

I just ignore mass sensationalist hype and let people and companies celebrate things that make them happy.
To be honest, most companies aren't really "celebrating" this as much as they are using it as a publicity stunt for their own advertising. It's soulless consumerism at its finest.

This is exactly what I'm trying to say. Maybe I just spun things in a much more negative light, but I agree with this. If people really give a shit about the gay community, they should do more. Like many have mentioned before about the states suppression and such, they should really work on that instead of just branding their company with a rainbow and saying, "Yay for equality! Buy our stuff because we support it!"

One has to wonder if the people who are so upset about seeing rainbows on Facebook and "mass sensationalist hype" are really bothered by that or are actually bothered about gays being able to get married in the first place.
After all, every year around Superbowl time I see sites change their logos, Google usually has some kind football drawing, people post about it incessantly on Facebook, companies use it to sell products etc. but people don't seem to get as bothered by it as they are about this whole gay marriage thing.

They don't, because the Super Bowl is a majorly corporate event in the first place, to the point where the ads that run are made to be widely talked about.

I wasn't referring to ads specifically, I was mainly referring to people who are upset the gay marriage ruling is getting so much attention in general. People saying "can we shut up about it now?". Um no? It's a pretty historic ruling and a major news event, people are going to talk about it.

What are non-supporters going to do, huh? It's the law of the land; there is literally nothing they can do about it. Non-supporters are no longer a threat to any of this. What's the worst that can happen, now? They call gay people the f-word over the internet? All I'm saying is they've had their fun, they've had their party, it's time to move on.

The ruling was literally two days ago...How long are people allowed to talk about it?

Murder is already illegal, is it not? Especially tacking on the "hate crime" charges. Are they getting killed every day in the US because they're gay like they do in other countries? Or is it by another motive? If they're getting killed for being gay by others in the US, then the perpetrator is most likely getting at bare minimum life in prison without parole, if not the death penalty. Murderers no matter what reason or motive should always get life in prison or even the death penalty.

The charges against murderers don't mean anything, queer people are still being murdered and nothing will change if we shove this under the rug and stop talking about it.

People will find any excuse to have a problem with something/be annoyed with/complain about something on social media. If something is annoying to you, filter out what you don't want to see, keep scrolling; just simply divert your attention elsewhere, especially if it's about something that has no significant effect on you

In latest news, Millionaire gay couple is suing to force a church to hold their wedding.
Quote
A wealthy gay couple has decided to launch a lawsuit to force their church to perform their wedding. The Drewitt-Barlows, a millionaire couple from the U.K, stated, “We’ve launched a challenge to the government’s decision to allow some religious groups to opt out of marrying same-sex couples".

That's the United Kingdom, which views LGBT+ people and religion differently than the U.S.

People can sue over anything, doesn't mean it's going to happen. I don't know anything about U.K. law, but in the U.S. that would be a clear violation of church and state.

Shit would get a whole lot worse from violation of church and state.

I'm aware of that. What if a gay couple were to do that here in the U.S.?
They would likely lose. I believe churches can currently ban interracial marriage ceremonies so I don't see why same-sex marriage ceremonies would be any different.
