The Tri-State Area Thread

I am not 100% on this but heard thy are going to move it into another arcade that the person owns. Actually most times I go to CTF I don't see the IIDX machine being used. Yeah also hoping we get ours at TriCounty fixed too hopefully, might check it out this weekend too if I have the time! I haven't played Pop'n in over a month been way too long.

I am happy Groove Coaster and a new Initial D is coming though I do like those games.

Guys, I have some sad news. CTF has confirmed they will be getting rid of IIDX, and possibly Pop'n as well to make room for the new games

However, this doesn't really affect me too much because Tri-County still has them and I live close by there so...
Let's just hope Tri-County gets its IIDX fixed sooner than later (BTW I will most likely be going to Tri-County on Monday if they're open Memorial Day!)

But, this is sad for all those whose main arcade was CTF and enjoyed those games. Now, they'll have to trek out to either 8 on the Break if they live closer to NJ or Tri-County if they live closer to Long Island.

From what I've read, the owner's just moving IIDX (I haven't heard anything about pop'n being moved or gotten rid of) to another arcade in NJ. I'm not sure what arcade it is, but I'm 95% sure it's not 8OTB.

Side-note: CTF's getting Super Table Flip (along with GC3, ID8 and Elevator Action, of course).
Also unpopular onion (or at least it seems to be): I think moving IIDX isn't as bad of a thing as people here are making it out to be. I can't speak from experience, but from what I've heard, CTF doesn't seem to have the best track record of upholding the quality of their machines anyway. Besides, once Tri-County's machine gets fixed and the Round1, both machines'll basically supplement (especially considering their probable higher quality) for CTF's (then former) machine AND there'll be a much closer Groove Coaster machine. I personally can't get either without harassing my parents into driving me 2 hours to 8OTB and they don't even have Groove Coaster.

Yeah, would have to agree/second what you heard - CTF's maintenance is lackluster at best if there's not someone external helping out (which is why the Pump and ITG are still in good shape), I think we got pretty lucky with the DDR since aside some of the brackets being taken out it hasn't gotten any worse since it arrived.

Popn is still a rumor though, and 8otb isn't getting the IIDX.

I think it also might be to the benefit of everyone overall if things were more spread out anyway, so people don't have to take (as many) long drives. Once we get the round 1 we're set to have a really nice variety of stuff across the area.

Oh great, IIDX is getting shipped off to that ghetto dump Rack & Roll in Passaic, NJ. Please do yourselves a favor and never go there.

Well the machine list doesn't look very appealing:
-DDR EXTREME (bad condition)
-GF9/DM9 (something tells me the version mixing was very much unintentional) (both broken)

So it looks like the owner's basically throwing it away while still trying to collect money from it. Now That's What I Call CTF Quality™! In all seriousness, what can we do so that 8OTB can get more rhythm games because in my super honest onion, I think they deserve them more than CTF?

Granted, 8OTB does have the trump card of the ONLY DDR 2013 machine in at least a 100 mile radius. And they have ITG2 and Pendual in addition. Not sure they need much more. I think they may even have a PIU machine, but I don't know what version.

I mean I'll be totally honest, 8otb isn't the greatest with maintenance either. The ITG isn't in the greatest shape, nor is the DDR (They're still fine but not stellar), though I can't speak for anything else. (By the way, I believe the Pump is Fiesta 1...) That being said, 2 IIDX in the same location would make sense since there's already more of a community for it there. Not to mention the cheesesteak.

Regardless, 100 times out of 100 I'd rather have the IIDX go there than Rack & Roll.

LATE EDIT: I think my biggest issue with Rack and Roll is that if IIDX wasn't making enough money in CTF I have no idea how it would in R&R either, there's not much of a music game presence there from the tiny bit of experience I have with them. Maybe that'll change, who knows.

What's so bad about Rack N Roll? They don't look too bad judging by their website. Sure, their DDR machine may be broken, but I wanna know exactly why you consider Rack N Roll a "ghetto dump". Did you ever have a bad experience there?

APPEND: It's been confirmed: Pop'n WILL be removed from CTF!

The reasons why I'm upset about this despite Tri-County having Pop'n is because CTF's Pop'n had the hidden songs unlocked while Tri-County's doesn't, and the CTF Pop'n Music machine was the first one I had played on since 2010 back in September...but I should be just grateful that I live 5 minutes away from Pop'n. Besides, it'll probably end up at...oh wait NuVirus you told us to stay away from Rack N Roll (where Pop'n will probably end up...)

Again, why exactly is RNR ghetto?

It sucks that IIDX and Pop'n for moving to RNR (im about 30 min driving from there). Probably won't be making a trip there since I regularly frequent The Break.

That and the fact that they have an entirely broken GDFM cab set with two different mixes are exactly why RnR's considered to be "ghetto". Keep in mind, RnR is run by the same guy who runs CtF and it's being considered "ghetto" in comparison to other predominantly rhythm game arcades. There are probably more "ghetto" arcades, but this one's the worst out of any arcade that's run by someone who at least has their toe (which is probably an overstatement for the guy running CtF and RnR) in the BEMANI community.

Also, I think the owner just flat-out disrespects the community because getting rid of the two most popular BEMANI machines is a very dumb idea if he expects to gain an 8OTB or Tokyo Attack-esque following.

Don't even get me started on their ITG3 machine, just sitting behind the other games, hidden like a piece of junk...

Wow well I will say I am very dissapointed about IIDX and Pop'n confirmed to be moved. TBH it was really hard to hear in that arcade anyway. Amazingly our flea market is a great place to play games.

Yep! I am headed to Tri-County today to play some BEMANI games! I really hope IIDX is working again...I'll fill you guys in on how IIDX is later today when I go.

Going to drop in at Tri County Flea Market and Dave and Busters in Westbury for some DDR. Will let you all know how it goes.

Interestingly enough, one of my friends who is a regular at that D & B is able to pull off some really insane AAA's on that SN2. I honestly have no clue how he does it...
