Also, I wonder how much appeal this project has to players, since I'm really not a fan of having much going on in the background when I'm trying to pass/FC/whatever songs. Music videos would be pretty distracting...

I like background videos, but from what I saw well, it's like going to my local annual anime convention and sitting in the Game Room watching Anime Hell AMV's. Fun to watch, not to play.
Since this is an early build i assume you are creating judgement fonts and other essential gameplay features the game already provides for you?

I ran my game and the game told me it's song count. I am not creating this game mainly for distribution. It is a pro-social project designed for gatherings and events. I do plan to distribute it by hard drive, but the idea for people to ship hard drives to me is for volunteers to get involved in creating this game.

My mistake, I meant that there were 138 songs within The Greatest Of Stepmania at the time. There are now 140.
