No, but they'll start watching for illegal files that are hosted there. I'm not too worried though.

Wow, I hope mediafire doesn't bite the dust too, although I've noticed you can't seem to view 'shared files' on there as of a few months ago.

I find it odd how all those sites above are gone and out of all of them, I only knew of 4 (Megaupload, FileServe, FileSonic, 4Shared). Everything else is brand new to me, and learning that Mediafire is under suspicion makes me nervous.
And can someone outside of the US see if Uploaded.to works?

Just downloaded something from 4Shared, so that place seems fine too... I don't think file deletion is an indication of anything special really. MegaUpload and all the others took/take stuff down over copyright "infringement" all the time.

RapidShare is effectively dead for non-paying members. At first they were deeply throttling links for free users and now it's being reported that free users can no longer download at all:
