Aeron, I understand why your on his side about this, because you want him to stay and all, but the issue is that he did steal hooky's graphics and kept the steps in as EDIT data without asking. He is in the wrong, and its no excuse that he's new. It's common knowledge not to useor include someone else's work in your own without asking.
