Not hating on Baby, it has a good chart; it's just I wouldn't want to hear it incessantly.

I would almost think Baby would have a negative effect and people would go "this game is so lame" if they saw it on the default chart and walk away. But if it does generate revenue, then slap it onto the song list... and I will sell forks to generate my own profit. xP

The people who would say that are generally the people who already go "DDR IZ FOR GAY N00BZ I PLAY HALO *fapfapfap*". Other people who actually enjoyed previous releases would simply skip over it.

Frankly, don't revive Baby, Somebody To Love, Only Girl (In The World), Can't Be Tamed, Whip My Hair, Just A Dream, Just The Way You Are, A Year Without Rain, and Nothin On You in terms of DDR II licenses.

Is there a way for the arcade operators to lock Afronova, Sunkiss Drop (they luv the crossover gimmick), Under The Sky and My Summer Love?

I keep telling players that they should pick something else because when they're gone (the arcade operators upgraded the machine), it's gonna be hard to find songs to play (I've actually read a sad report about a player who didn't enjoy playing DDR X2 because most of the BeForU songs and Silent Hill songs were gone).

As for My Summer Love, stop copping out on the 9-footers. My Summer Love is a nine only on that long stream. Play Paranoia Rebirth or any of the nine footers who really are nine footers.

There is, but I'd suggest not locking AFRONOVA/SUNKiSS. Those are pro-player essentials, and crossover-training is GOOD for those players, especially since they probably just learned to crossover/Afrowalk. These fixations die down after a few months - for awhile at our 4th Mix Plus, people became obsessed with era(nostalmix) - and then later WILD RUSH and LOVE THIS FEELIN' - because "OMG the speed changes!!" Maybe they'll get into a spinny phase next, with CANDY*, SEXY PLANET, PARANOiA, TRIP MACHINE, and Healing Vision -Angelic Mix- next. It happens.


Nonono... I think he means the players that play ONLY Halo, 24/7/365; and who's social/waking lives revolves around that and teabagging. THOSE jackasses.

Finally, I could go a lifetime without "Baby" and the like. But remember, it's not always like Konami pays to use licenses - it's quite likely/possible that a good number of these albums' studios are also paying for the in-game advertising it brings. Don't forget, that's where else DDR started - it was basically a playable, fun "commercial" for DanceMania. Only difference now is that it's aimed towards the pop sensations of the times. And this time, in spite of some of our more undergroundy tastes, they're actually really with the times, here. (Even if it DOES reek of Disney Channel Edition - or is it just me?)

For instance, why wouldn't Vanilla Ice jump on board a hip-hop collab now? Not only is it a recession where he can't trust his main foundation (realty), it's also the first time in 25 years where both hip-hop and collaborations are "hip." Although Still Unbreakable sounds WAY more poppy than anything I'd expect of either VI -or- Des-ROW by a long shot! ...but that's not the point. The point is, he's a household name of hip-hop iconicness, now. It built (him/them), practically. Although personally, I'd like to see some of the TMNT 2 soundtrack in future releases - especially considering Konami's history with TMNT video games, and Ice's role in that movie. ;) (The movie may have sucked, but those tracks are killer.)

And consider the alternatives - at least this time they didn't go Rick Astley on us and stepchart "Friday" by Rebecca Black. Although all things considered - that could've worked quite perfectly after all. XD

GORGEOUS 2012 should never be seen again, nor should it have arrived on DDR. Honestly, I'd rather listen to LET THEM MOVE than this joke.

Any of those weird licensed covers from Extreme US...back in the day when "artists" did not realize that they could promote themselves through video games. Heck I have no problem reviving them as their original songs but wtf were those. They couldn't even get dancemania track covers for them?
