I intend to do play doubles casually. I just never get the chance to.
And requires more credits.

Not always, find an arcade that has a machine set to Premium. Or Play Pump it Up which doesn't care either way.

This is an amazing idea! I play DDR/ITG almost every day and it's the perfect winter workout. I'm not fat, but I could probably lose some weight.(You be the judge)

Playing on doubles is fantastic, and I'm lucky too, because in my arcade, doubles only costs a dollar.

That's our best bet as of now.

Try to break the habit on going on your toes during hard songs. You're probably over-exerting yourself.
I'm guilty of this as well.

Bar use is good if you're going for stamina and/or accuracy. Basically... use it if you feel like you need to use it, but do not make it a crutch.
I always use the bar.

As does mine.

Why not suggest take a picture of the total amount of calories you burnt for one session? OR if people are very "timed base", why not set a time limit (like 30 minutes for example) and after the 30 minutes you take a picture of the total amount of calories you burned.
I don't really see why you would want to take pictures of each individual song's scores, isn't this idea just based off working out and not solely score based? I can understand that there needs to be some validity to the process, but everyone can start even on Beginner, as long as they are doing it on Workout Mode, right?

Maybe we can take pictures of the total score for the entire workout and yes you would qualify as long as you play in workout mode. It doesn't matter what level you are on. Plus it would be helpful to keep a log of your progress. That is why it is a good idea to have a this thread and a workout tracker on the site to back it up. If we don't get a workout tracker than we as individuals would have to keep track and there could be no way for someone to say you're lying because you would have proof. Maybe at the beginning of every update to the thread you enter some information. Amount of time played, number of songs played, and how many total calories burned ect. Then in your profile in you about me section, your signature, or a third party log you can keep track of all of it.

Before we get to sign-ups, we need to decide on how exactly we will do this. Are we going to be using DDR CS versions or StepMania?
If we use StepMania, we COULD use courses chosen and created by the community, but I don't know if it would keep track of calories and whatnot, while DDR CS would. :I
Also, if we plan on doing DDR CS, we will need to use a mix that most of us have. I have DDRMAX2, EXTREME, EXTREME 2 (IDK if it works still), SuperNOVA, SuperNOVA2, and DDR X.

The point of the signups is to see who's interested and who's committed, so we can see how many people have access to what, and decide what to use.

Calorie loss isn't something you can accurately track, anyway. DDR just uses a formula based on the ammount of steps in the song. When we pick the song courses, we can just apply that formula to guess how many calories each course burns?
I would much, much rather use Stepmania. It gives us a lot more options.

No I meant will we be making a sign-up thread or will we be posting our sing-up info in the workout thread and update the first post every time someone joins or quits?
Append: You know like a memeber list on the first post of the official thread.

In your updates you should state what game you have used. Some people don't have a pad that can be used with stepmania.

Post them here, since this is the thread where we discuss putting the whole thing together ^^;
Once we have a good idea of what people have access to, and decide what courses / setup we'll be using ,we can make the real thread with all those details, get a few more signups and then use that to run the whole thing?

Everyone who says they're in should make a post now of what is available to them so we can get a general idea of what this thread should consist of. Plus what if we want to use DDR on PS3? We should also state what games are available to us. Like this.
List of games (with compatible pad):
MAX-X2 (PS2)
DDR (PS3)
Name : Android
Starting weight : 118lbs
Play level : 8
Do you have :
Access to the PS2 console games? : Yes
Access to Stepmania (with a mat) : No
An hour every day to work out on DDR : Yes

Plus what if we just want to workout and get some exercise instead of planning to lose weight?

Another good point. I didn't actually plan on this becoming a weight-loss thing anyhow. I just want to improve my stamina.

The goal (in my eyes at least) is :
We all work on our stamina, by making a really long course (or courses) of songs, and praxctice playing them every day, until we have the stamina to pass the whole course in one session.
-
You're more likely to put on weight doing it, tbh.
People on the last page were referring to it as a weight loss thing, so I guess you could look at it from that perspective if you want. I'm personally doing it to work on my leg muscles.
