Playing as we speak. Our midnight release ended up happening after all, they even gave us pizza and soda while we waited. Turns out none of the 360 versions arrived only PS3... luckily the PS3 version is the one I reserved. :3

Did anyone else manage to snag a LE of this before it hit its 100+ price point?

possibly my favorite character ever.


yep, i had it preordered. i got one on launch day for $60 (well, $70, i put $10 down).

anyway, whats everyone's team? i started ryu/morrigan/ironman but after playing a bit i have my preset teams figured out.

morrigan (dark harmonizer)/ryu (tatsumaki senpu kyaku)/doom (molecular shield)
morrigan (dark harmonizer)/c.viper (AA thunder knuckle)/doom (molecular shield)
zero (some japanese word i dont know yet, rushing fire thingy)/c.viper (flame kick)/akuma (tatsumaki zanku kyaku)

teams 1 and 2 are zoning teams, but 1 is pure zoning and 2 is zoning with the capability to rush if necessary. team 3 is all rush baby.

Dan and I just plowed through the Trophy list yesterday night. My progress is at 53% while Dan's is at 50%. Needless to say, I kicked his ass


I've never played a MvC game before this one so I'm still figuring out how this game works.

I currently have a preset Darkstalkers team for story mode use. I'm playing around with a Wesker/Doom/Zero combination, along with a Doom/Skrull/Dohmaru (fire head guy) combination.

I've only fully completed Hsien-Ko's missions, and only because I wanted that Cute Corpse title REALLY bad.


Ever since beating her Story Mode, I've been wanting a large, textless version of this for my work computer.


Kinda. Everywhere around me stopped taking pre-orders for it long before I asked, and Amazon only had one seller charging $159.99 for it, but Capcom's online store was still taking pre-orders for it. However, I didn't know if they would ship on release day, or ship it so it ARRIVED on release day, so I went ahead and pre-ordered a regular copy until the LE arrives.

Good thing too, because the LE still has yet to arrive.


Hsien-Ko [Senpu Bu] / Morrigan [Dark Harmonizer] / Miss Tron [Bonne Strike]

My primary. Focuses mostly on sending Hsien-Ko immediately into Rimoukon state, benching her, then calling in her assist to botch an opponent's attack attempts. I don't use Morrigan's assist as much as I should, but then again, I don't use Hypers as much as I should, either (until the last 15 seconds). My choice in her assist is mostly in case someone interrupts Hsien-Ko's transformation the first time.

Also n00b, because I know you'll get the joke, go finish off Magneto with Deadpool if you haven't already.


I'm only missing Combat Specialist, New Avenger, and Master of Fate.

is that hsien-ko's armor super? if so, good call. its a lot like iron zangief in MvC2 (which i rock, btw. its not the best but it keeps the scrubby magneto's off of me while the good ones of course still cream my corn).

anyway, i like to start with morrigan on point, i run with viper's AA thunder knuckle helping me deal with jumpers until i get a clear opening at an air combo (usually ending with M M H S), which gives me a 100% safe way to dark force. after which i call doom to lock down and start air dash/flight shenanigans because once you start switching sides a lot of people cant block yet (most dont seem to know you have to block the real one, despite both doing damage), once i get a hit landed i go into the same air combo but i end with M M H shadow blade, which hurts under dark force.

if i feel morrigan isnt effective against a team, i will try and land that air combo to safe tag viper in, and start rushing. her standing light is wicked fast, so once i see it hit i start her magic series and call morrigan for a meter boost. depending on how much meter i have, i launch into M M H burn kick->burst time or EX burn kick M H S SJ M M H burn kick->burst time. i'm trying to learn her double jump combos too, despite the damage scaling they build a nice amount of meter. same as morrigan, i use a combination of doom assists and 8-way air dashes to get in.

as for doom, its amazing how well he can cope without an assist, and lvl3 x-factor c.L, H, f+H, S, SJ M M H photon array hurts, plus it chips like crazy. couple that in with flight mode, his air H, and regular photon shots for chip he's quite a beast just as he was in MvC2.

and as soon as i get a chance i'll do the deadpool/magneto thing. is it only if magneto is the last guy, or just kill mags with deadpool?

Yeah, I actually used to do the same thing in MvC2 with Zangief, but unlike Hsien-Ko, I couldn't actually play with Zangief himself, so aside from being a near-invincible assist, he was pretty much useless in my hands.


Oh, her Astral Vision? You know, I keep forgetting she has that because she didn't have it the past two MvCs.

Hey, the other "Morrigan" keeps opponents from getting pushed away when Astral Vision is active, right? If you usually end your air combos with Shadow Blade, try Flight-cancelling immediately afterwards and throw in a second Shadow Blade. That combo usually only works for me when the opponent is against the wall, but if the second Morrigan is there to keept them from getting shoved back, maybe it'll work in the middle of the arena.

My big problem is that I'm not good at fighting projectile spammers. I've had way too many fights where I'd OBLITERATE the opponent's first character and barely have a scratch myself, but by the end of the round, I'd barely edge out a Time Out win just because after the first person drops, their whole strategy degrades to "NO STAY AWAY FROM ME" (especially with previously mentioned Hsien-Ko strategy). At least in the last two games, Morrigan's forward air dash was faster and would lose altitude, so I'd be right in an opponent's face/back before they recovered from the projectile, but they slowed her down AND you have to wait for the descent this time, so spammers can see you coming and have time to react.


Only if Magneto is the last guy. It's during Deadpool's "grabbing camera victory quote" thing. Another humorous dialogue comes up if Deadpool is the first against a team with Magneto first.
