if kiss me all night long's oni steps were "unnecessary" to you, then stay away from it in IIDX.
there were some great ONIs in universe, actually i havnt played a bad one yet, i really like them.

You mean they inserted challenge steps for lots of older songs? Is there any way I can find 'em on the net? Haha.
Anyway I thought that they should make more remixes for really popular songs, like Afronova.

You havent ever seen people dancing like jenny or ruby?. |
I have, but i hate thier dancing. Jenny just stands still and shakes her butt every two seconds, and Ruby does the same. Plus, she looks like a dancing pineapple with lips.

Plus Ruby looks really really old. I hate that.
Whatever happenned to what they had going in EX2? Other than the 100 000point costumes, they were fun and much more interesting than all of this Pix.
And they better get rid of the e-amuse unlock crap. Once was more than enough.
Edit: At least they decided to TRY to make AA sound okay. And as a 10, it's not exactly fun, it's incredibly long, would be extremely repetitive in the fact that it's practically a straight 16th stream, and that's far to ITG ish for Konami, and it's not even good for ITG in the first place. So don't bitch about it being 9. AA was prefectly fine if you ask me.

if you think anything about AA was good, you've never played/heard the IIDX version. the cut was terrible, and there was too much 8th running where there could have AT LEAST been rhythmic fun. 9 is fine for the song, 10 is prefered by me, but either way, THAT particular step chart was terrible.

I play IIDX, and have RED CS, and I've been playing AA so much in the past while trying to beat it. I think I know how it sounds. Sure, it may have been shortened at some points, but it's repetitive anyways. And that little nostalgic part or whatever you wanna call it that they cut out probably would have just got some long freeze arrows, knowing Konami, as 8th streams wouldn't fit there in contrast to the rest of the song. If the rest of the song were filled with plenty of 16th streams, it's not nearly as simple or fun. For those who play with feet, AA doesn't belong a 10 for fun or a good challenge.
Plus, it IS a lot better than half the other cuts, which are noticable even to those who don't know the original song. AA is great in that most people who don't know it won't be able to tell. I know I didn't before I played IIDX.

a friend of mine who's never played IIDX actually knew where rainbow rainbow, AA, and no.13 were cut before i had him listen to the IIDX versions. murmur twins and xepher werent cut to great either, they just chopped the beginning of the songs off.
and since when does repetitive matter? everyone and their fucking mom loves so deep, and thats got to be the most repetitive DDR song ever. or how about tribal style on ITG? thats 2 minutes of repetitive, why cant AA be? i've played some very fun simfiles for it that were 10s using 16th runs and what not, so why cant konami do it?

Well I guess you can tell pretty easily. I've never heard rainbow rainbow in IIDX, but it's pretty easy to tell where that's cut, but at least it's a lot more bearable than DoLL or something that's so abrupt.
Back to AA, simfiles and what Konami does are totally different in terms of what steps patterns they'll incorporate due to difficulty. Even though they definitely did go over the edge with their 10's this time around...so they won't have excessively long streams that are completely continuous or tons of jumps in a row (except SMMMO, but not many people enjoy that).
As for the repetitive parts, there are still arguments about the quality of ITG because some of the songs are too repetitive, and the steps to So Deep aren't as repetitive as you may think, even though they are quite bit. Even though they are, the repetitiveness AA qould have is much worse than So Deep and Tribal Style, since they have a repetitive PATTERN, while AA is just straight streams.
And when was the original chart so oblivious to the rhythm? Sure, the beginning may have been lacking, but they stepped well and accurately to those harder irregular patterns, and only missed some of the possible notes in most other parts of the song that Konami would have allowed (middleish part mainly, some end bits).
Also, if Konami filled itself with 10s for every deserving song, there'd be way too many 10's. Also, there's the chance that fans wouldn't like the way they did it, since at higher levels, each person has a much more distinct way of a good stepchart, so leaving most songs 9's is a good idea. Just don't make it impossible to edit it if they do decide to make it a 10. *cough* *CHAOS*

Oh look. That's abrupt too. They're both terrible at that part. My bad.

I do have to agree that AA‘s cut was crap. No.13 and Rainbow Rainbow’s cut was not so bad. I just hope they do better on SN2.

Keep the really good IIDX songs where they belong, though. That Xepher fiasco was enough. ![]() |
I TOTALLY agree with you! DDR needs more DDR songs and less crossovers! In my opinion, there should only be around 10% crossovers on a DDR game, and I also think that they shouldn't be mainstream crossovers (crossovers that stand out on the game in which it originated) like Xepher, Innocent Walls, Nageki No Ki, Waxing and Wanding, fffff, Ubertreffen, Captivate ~Sabaki~, etc. Instead, the crossovers should be something along the lines of this:
From IIDX:
-Skyscraper
-Hitch Hiker
-Tangerine Stream
-THE SAFARI
-NORTH
-CHECKING YOU OUT
-Over The Clouds
-Buffalo
-Listen Up
-PATRIOTISM
From GuitarFreaks&Drummania:
-Cutie Pie
-Hypnotica
-USED CARS
-THE ADVENTURES
-Three Worms
From pop'n music:
-Water Melon Woman
-Electronic Fill
-penguin
-Candy Blue
-Harvest Moon
-Missing Cat
-Blaster
...these would be sufficient enough for DDR crossovers.

I've never heard of those songs, and I don't think many of the new Bemani players have either.
DDR is not trying to appeal to Beatmania veterans. It's a mainstream game, hence mainstream songs.

Where’s Disable the flaw? I know it’s in one of the ultramix packs. While I’m in the subject of Ultramix packs, What ever happen to Kind Lady(interlude) in SN1?
