This is true. But I still think that if Konami really wanted to redeem itself from this X fiasco, they should find available X machines that have the pad fixes and screen lag fix and hold the tournaments on those in order to promote the new game. Then on the day of the final event, release unlock codes that makes some of the hidden X songs playable for the last tourney. I think it would be a neat surprise and make the tourney finale much more interesting. But alas, we're stuck whoring 15 songs. Hopefully they can spice it up some how next year like maybe team divisions or having a course-division.

Fans Of Best-Selling Dance Franchise Will Flock to GameWorks Arcades Across the Country to Compete in the First Official Nationwide DanceDanceRevolution Tournament

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - September 24 - 2009 - Time to put on those dancing shoes and let the search for the ultimate dancer in the United States begin - DanceDanceRevolution style. Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today announced the launch of the official 2009 DanceDanceRevolution U.S. Championships. Beginning September 26, the first-ever national DanceDanceRevolution competition will bring together the greatest DanceDanceRevolution players from around the country to compete in seven different regional tournaments all over the United States. All this action will culminate when the top dancers in each region will advance to the National Finals in Las Vegas on December 5th, 2009 where the number one DanceDanceRevolution player will be crowned.

The DanceDanceRevolution U.S. Championships will take place inside local GameWorks arcades in each region. Such a grand scale will put DanceDanceRevolution players up to the ultimate test as they compete against each other on the ever-popular arcade unit - DanceDanceRevolution Super Nova. Up to 160 elite DanceDanceRevolution players will compete in the full day competition. The top performer in each region, based on the highest number of points, will advance to the National Finals and a chance to win a $1000 Best Buy gift card and other prizes - as well as the title of top DanceDanceRevolution player in the country. Additionally, all competitors will receive a $10 coupon to Best Buy when they show up at the event at GameWork locations. I almost started to consider seriously going, but I noticed Columbus's tourney is being held on a Sunday (seriously?) and is 6 hours away. I don't feel like getting up at 4 in the morning, driving 6 hours then trying to compete and driving back in the same day. Miami's worse at 13 hours away. bleh.
