er, I seriously doubt the X in DDR X stands for 10, as it's the 11th mix (yeah 10th anniversary, I know), so seeing DDR X 2 doesn't mean DDR 10 2, but rather, DDR Ex 2. I think the X was the name they chose in lieu of DDR Urban Edition, or DDR Hip-hop/R&B edition, or DDR In The City.

I just hope the next DDR AC have more media. i mean the hardware is better the software is better, i hope more BGV and less dancing routines or characters, more like IIDX.

I really don't care what they do as long as a PS3 ddr game comes out I'll be happy, but if not then I'll have another year to wait

Do you think there will be "revival" songs on the next game? And by revival I mean songs on other DDR arcades but never on a US PS2 game.

I'm still waiting for STARS (2nd Naoki's Style) Yes I know there's a version on SN2 but they sound considerably different, and Brilliant R.E.D

you tlaking to me Silent? lol I have two jobs as is. Money isn't a issue I just don't feel like wasting money on a console for just a few games.

I really think they're going to release DDR Universe 4, DDR Hottest Party 3, and DDR X-2. That's my biggest thought.

None of the recent models (as of August 2008) handle PS2 backwards compatibility at all. PS1 support's still there, through emulation.

And this wouldn't be much of a surprise...

Anyway, I am very curious on what they're going to call they're next release.
That and I am wondering what they are going to do for its interface. I liked the DDR X interface somewhat, but I didn't like the urban theme. In my opnion, all the fence graphics and rusty metal graphics made it look unsophisticated to me. I'd like something more abstract like SN2. What would be even better if they tried incorporating Beatmania IIDX interfaces into DDR. My first suggestion would be to have a Beatmania IIDX Gold like theme for DDR

Konami can't ever stick to a theme element for too long, so I wouldn't worry. I, however, enjoy the DDR X theme. Not because of the "yo yo yo, b ball, dawg" part of it but because the colors are vibrant and the contrast is good for once. It doesn't feel like being in a dark room or your 10 year old sister's room either. It's the best choice of colors and textures since 7thMIX IMO.

My advice to Konami is to keep whatever engine they're currently using and just tweak it if need be. Maybe they can do a Metal Gear Solid style theme (DJ TROOPERS) for the next one?

As for the interface, so long as they don't try to ditch the song wheel again I'll be happy.

All i'm looking for in the next game is


-Keep the new software and make adjustments if necessary
-More songs and come backs from old songs
-New theme
-Less dancers and more BG's
-Female announcer like solo 2000


Maybe ridiculous timing would be fun haha

Now that I think about it, it wasn't really too long that the DDR X AC's were out...

As long as they have revivals, and hopefully good revivals, new songs, a new theme, and a not crappy announcer, then I'm fine.
