They even can't see the arrows??? Really???
Awww man...

If it's the same "they" that we refer, then I believe thy can't even differ between SFIV and Tekken 6 if nobody told themLaughing Hard

I wouldn't complain, sources says that we already got X here, albeit far far away, and that's all that matters

DDR here in the Philippines is getting also popular these days. But many players who kept on playing DDR thought that EX was the last DDR to be released but when SN1 was out in the market, they quitted playing DDR anymore...

My first post. DDR is also more or less dead here in Malaysia .. Our best mix we got here is just a SuperNOVA inside the kids area (not in the arcades) .. You can find DDR Extreme and DDR 3rd Mix at some places ... I wonder when they will start upgrading these machines ah -_- .. As far as I see, there are no good players here too in Malaysia .. I guess I'm the only one that plays a lot =/

I can firmly state in this thread that Miami has active players. /cough
It's alright at times, but then it dies. Like a roller coaster.
Cali is full of Extreme machines.
Flor is full of a mix in between 1 X, many Sn2, many Extremes, and some Sn1.
I used to love going to Bird Bowl just for an ITG2 to try out some songs from the outside world, heavenly pads.
Best cab out there I can say, but then it all turned upside down. The monitor turned black and the owners failed to fix it.
I can assure you that that machine brought in a huge income. Now they got PIU Pro. It's not the same. Cry
Now, the only decent cab I know around me is at Dolphin Mall. An SN2 machine with all unlocks and good pads.
Meh. I play once in a while. I just grew bored of the song list. Confused

DDR is, like, dead in Chicago, but alive in the suburbs. I know there's quite a few SN's and Extremes, and there used to be at least one Max2 (this according to my best friend) and there's two X's, I think.

The more active teenage audience can now access it for free during their P.E. classes at school. That, and the way it's more domesticated, is making the social scene of arcade DDR considerably more invisible, but not non-existent. And yes, we're all juggling lots of responsibilities and cutting back on expenditures, too.

And then there's this change in the "new versions" stigma. The newer mixes always suck worse than the ones that came before them, but only because we're exposed to a new set of easy/sleeper stages along with the cool new ones. But we remember the cooler songs, anyways. Anybody who said "SuperNOVA sucks because EX 2 was better" probably NOW fondly remembers the awesome K.O. tracks in it now, like the Fascinations, Star Gate Heavens, Flows, Baby's Tears', INNOCENCE OF SILENCE, Xepher, and HONEY^PUNCH (which let's face it - never got the cult following CANDY v and LOVE v SHINE did anyways). Not to mention TONS of wicked-cool GF/dm crossovers.

Even DDRX has a good number of redeeming stages, for having a disappointing number of crossover songs (both from other BEMANI games, and the Ultramix/Universe titles... I'm still hoping to see a lot of the songs from the whole slew of them). But, especially where licensed tracks are concerned... the home version markets - all of them - are VASTLY superior in quality than the arcade ones have been, lately.

From SuperNOVA on, in fact. If anything, the US/EU counterparts are becoming SUPERIOR products, save the whole "port half the unlocks in the next version" gimmick - which is only happening in consequence to the complaints at having too many old-song revivals (which btw, are STILL being spammed through the Japanese versions, and yet, no importer is complaining about THOSE - wth?). Even 90% of revival songs in DDRX (JP) were present in DDR EXTREME (JP). Roll Eyes

And then, there's the arcade interaction. Which Japan has had since SECOND MIX. 1999. And we've had since when? Believe me, that kind of thing DOES play a role, when you can challenge your friends to try your edits and courses on solid pads.

DDR's popularity hasn't declined at all. Just it's means as a social activity (which yes, deferred to GH/RB. Because apparently now, liking DDR is something to be embarassed about. I don't get how...).

Hmmmm....

Let's see, telling your friends your going to play GH or RB they might go "oh, cool" OR "AH SWEET MAN! Can i come?"

While if you tell someone you play DDR, they are more prone to say "lol" or the common "LOL FAG/EMO/PUNK/GOTH/FAT/NERD/whatever other demeaning word you can put in here".

....it's sad really, because GH and RB draws so much attention to the AMERICAN market, DDR has little to not much influence with the american market as much as those two games have (American rock and roll/metal/alternative to dancey j-pop/trance/techno songs...see the difference?)

The only SN songs I play are cachaca and CHAOS. I would play Innocence of Silence at the arcade but the song gets too quiet.

Right. Because DDR doesn't feature rock/alternative songs. And GH/RB doesn't feature any girly-pop songs either. 9.9

Still, I wouldn't complain at stepcharts being in GH/RB, too.

DDR X is selling for $20 at K-mart for the game and pad.
Universe 3 for $12 in K-mart for the game and pad.
GH, game only, $30-50. For the guitar: $20.

You are partially correct about the friends over.
I have 3 friends who I was worried to say "hey lets play some DDR or something". Never turned down. This was before GH.
Now its why play DDR, its a fags game. I beg to differ, but that public sees it like that.

I don't like more than half the songs in GH.
I don't like more than half the songs in DDR.

What I don't like?
Scream-o "DIIIIIIIIE!!!!!!!" songs, Annoying pop songs (Korean, Japanese, American) for the most part, Some Trance that sucks, some happy hardcore.

Scream-o gets dull after the second yell.
Annoying pop songs with the "love love candy" is boring after the first verse.
Trance that isn't catchy is bad.
Happy hardcore...to describe it: Darwin. On the Break was great, but Dream Machine was...eww.

The public only sees it that goths, fat, or fags play DDR. I don't know many goth players or fags. I never see a fat player. I only know the regular public audience to play DDR. Either that or some little girls who play the first song in Beginner all the time. Oh man...

DDR shouldn't feature rock/alternative, IMO.
GH/RB should at least improve the song lists, they went downhill after Part 2.

I complain over GH "stepcharts" because of the dull repetitiveness in the notes. Yes, simulate guitar features, but come on...they can do better than that. <_< Expert is boring as hell.

Fascinations: good.
Star Gate: good, but it gets boring.
Flows: joke-bad. not joke-good.
Baby's Tears: voice gets annoying.
Innocence of Silence: good, but the steps can be improved. (Quiet)
Xepher: after a while, boredom. Overplayed I think (before)
Honey Punch: why good? Not so good.
Cachaca: lol
CHAOS: funny.

They said LOOK AT MY MONEY.

They wouldn't give five flying fuks as long as the cost is low.
I once saw a cab with the title "ITG 2"
The cab was a filthy DDR 5th mix with poor pads. The title screen itself screamed DDR 5TH MIX!!!
Those bastards.
