This is something I'd say about this supposed "holiday" too haha. Corporate schemes to make money off of obsolete pagan holidays.
Actually, the holiday as we know it today is largely rooted in American created traditions, minus the exchanging of cards, an English tradition. The original February 14th festival has long since been lost. Yeah companies are making money off of it, but what do you expect? Companies make money off your birthday too.
