Things in the AC that just piss you off

You know what I really hate? People telling you what songs to play! I mean seriously...How annoying is that? I get little kids telling me "play a song that's really fast!" or "do a hard one!" & when I play a song that I want to do they have the nerve to get pissed @ me and starts complaining as I'm playing.//

Now when someone bothers me, I just say: "Hey do I know you? No? Then get the hell out!"//

I'll jokingly tell people to play stuff that's out of their range. But I try to make it clear by tone of voice that I'm joking.

You ever try doing what they tell you to, though? I swear, if you fail the song they asked you to do they go "HAHA YOU SUCK!" But if you pass it they either get bored in the middle and wander off or they ask you to do another one. And when you don't do it then they still get pissed at you.

Still, it's good to do variety.

I got another one for ya. Kids who mess with your buttons while you're grabbing a drink or fixing your shoe or something (in the middle of a song).

Oh dear God chavs... I swear the blokes are just annoyed that I play better than their girlfriends. I had one girl once who annoyed me and my two female friends and then proceeded to go into a rant about how she had been picked on all her life. Dear God luv we all have it rough sometimes but is that any reason to treat other people like crap and insult them while they are trying to play a game?

God! I use to see noobs playing AFRONOVA and LOVE SHINE lots of times.

I have some friends that are only DDR players and doesn't know other BEMANI games (IIDX, pop'n music, GF&DM, jubeat, etc); and they asume every song in DDR origanlly come from DDR... When I tell them "CaptivAte -CHIKAI- is from IIDX GOLD" or "BALALAIKA, Carried with the wind is from GF6th & DM5th" they say "wow, you're a freak because you know a lot about KONAMI"

I started out in DDR. A lot of the musicas did. We learned about stepmania from our friends, and then we discovered beatmania, some of us found pop'n and jubeat, others found parapara, and all of us found GFDM.

What I don't like is when parents take there little 4 year olds and walk them up to the DDR machine. Sometimes they put in money, sometimes they don't, either way the kid stumbles around like someone spiked his/her bottle with spoonful of vodka. And they do this for about 4-5 minutes at a time. If you go close to em and try to subtly have them back off they glare at you or get all oblivious. And white moms? Jesus Christ. We've been talking about those things in this entire thread.

Sometimes it bugs me because I like playing the Trip Machine remixes but other times I actually don't listen and it doesn't really hurt.

But what you said was kind of the opposite of what I experienced once. I was playing doubles and I got extra stage andd I picked Paranoia Survivor despite everyone's wishes for an easier song (big crowd was big) and I failed (really disappointed) and the crowd booed, but the words they said were "Bad call! You know he passed the song! He didn't fail! Liar!" I would have laughed if I weren't so tired.

Now another little tale about people who annoy me. A short one at that.

I'll give you three things. Whatever you come up with within the realm of possibility, it happened.

- A screaming child
- A tourist in New York with a camera (picture camera with flash)
- A parent and another child with a strange tendency to stomp on a down arrow behind the bar.

Here's a couple of possibilities (make up your own, it most likely happened)

- All three happen at the same time for one of the rounds
- 3 makes 1 scream in another around

any i hate it when people play for hours..

I hate onlookers. And I really hate it around here and getting used to this place more than anything because they're mostly ignorant when it comes to this genre.

Although we have only an ITG2 system instead of DDR AC whatever...so the easy way to scary most people shitless is doing something like VerTex^2 on Medium. Most people down here think it's the work of the devil or something and they promptly either shut up or they go into stitches so bad that it doesn't matter anymore.

I think what pissed me off the most is the care that these systems went through. I was personally involved in ATTEMPTING to keep my system that I probably used more often than most down there in top shape. You come by on Friday, however, and it'd all be fucked up by the scum of the Earth coming by on the nights fucking up the machine. They wouldn't be able to do a simple 1-footer so they would stomp the shit out of the panel until it absolutely worked no more and no one did a thing about it.

Once I saw that and after they shitcanned my efforts to get a custom R21 going, I said screw 'em and never went back. That's been about a year.

What's worse? Watching someone waste $6 playing Golden Sky on beginner repeatedly while failing every single time.

I stepped on a kid's foot this way once. The mom yelled at me but I cussed her for being a dumbass. She got kicked out.

screw that. if the pads are like walking on ice, i'm spilling a coke. i play doubles, so to hell with anyone that expects me to slip and fall because THEY dont like it. 9/10 people who complain about it cant do max300 heavy double no bar, so they wouldnt understand. i mean, most arcades i go to dont have super slick pads, but on the occasion that someone actually cleaned them(the tops of the panels i mean, i make sure to frequent arcades that maintain their pads) i always dirty them. also, my first time playing NGO in the arcade(single heavy) i tripped and fell WHILE BAR RAPING because the pads were so slick. i walked to the snack bar, bought a coke, spilled it, soaked it up with my towel, played again, and got an A.

the only thing that really gets on my nerves are shadowers and soccer moms. the first is why i learned doubles, the second is why i wear my dog tags when i go to an arcade, because one ALWAYS trys to yell at me. they usually come up with something like "hey kid, what the hell is your problem? is school out today, dont you have something else you should be doing besides playing some lame ass video game, they're for children. what are you 17? get a job or something." to which i respond "okay bitch, complain because i'm playing a video game your kid wants in on. what the hell have you done with your life? you are an unemployed house wife with 5 kids, i maintain a-10s and f-16s, plus i actually benefit the country" *flash dog tags* its really the only time i advertise in public that i'm in the military, because its fun to throw that at someone who thinks a 23 year old playing a video game is ditching school, has no life, and is unemployed.

the looks on their faces are priceless too. never once have i had one of them come back with anything. the ones that arent unemployed soccer moms dont give a shit if you walked on their kid because they wouldnt stay off the pad, its just the "full time" moms that think their kid is the most important thing in the world and will try and start shit. everyone keep that in mind when one yells at you.

Indonesian player here, and i'd like to share...

There are two things that piss me off the most when i play DDR AC...

First, many people waste a lot of credits to play Afronova only... (i once witnessed 21 credits wasted for Afronova, which means 63 afronovas!!!) I was furious, there is abundant choice of songs and they got stuck on afronova... I know it's up to them to choose whatever song they like, but still...

Second, disturbing culture of playing, i once played in an arcade center and met a girl who spent five or six credits to play in a row, consecutively, and lately i just discovered that almost everybody do the same thing, they bust their whole credits in one shot without taking a break and give other people the damn turn....

There are a few things i can mention here.

- Random people i don't know/like suddenly jumping in while i'm playing and asking me to teach them how to play. (that's what the fucking tutorial is for)
- People i don't know/like telling me to play certain songs.
- Playing with random people i don't know/like and they pick really crappy songs.
- Waiting for people who hog the machine while they pick really crappy songs.
- Having little kids ask me for change so they can play with me. Yeah...I dont' think so...

- oh, and attracting a crowd of old people while they point at you

I get yelled at alot for that...Lots of people think I'm 18 or something thinking this is a kids game. Most parents would try to make a scene but I just end it by saying: "Look, I'm 29...get the fuck off me. For all you know, I could be a potential Pedophile..." *starts staring at the kid*//

Everyone at my local arcade knows me and are in on the joke so I don't get into trouble for that. Hell, One time some drunk guy was making fun of me while I was playing. I wasn't in a good mood BTW, so I tripped him and held him pinned to the floor with my elbow. When security showed up, The first thing they said was: "Toon, Are YOU ok?" And dragged the drunk out on my say. It's good to have soooo many connections...//

i get lost for many times, can't differ between arrows and video stuffs, especially when i turn the arrows rainbow/solo....

yeah.. that's very annoying.
