Well, people blame Bush for the war because (Not my opinion, just stating) they feel he lied about going into the war. One major thing brought up is the Yellowcake Uranium. The Italian government gave information to the US and the UK that seemed to imply that the Iraqi government was attempting to purchase yellowcake uranium from Niger. The CIA sent out former ambassador Joseph Wilson to investigate the claims, and he reported that the claims were bogus.
Despite this, President Bush used this information as one of the major pieces of his justification for Iraq, which probably persuaded many members of Congress to jump on the bandwagon.
And, as seen across American Headlines for a number of months, Joseph Wilson proceeded to write an editorial piece claiming that Bush had twisted the information to sell the war. Conservative columnist Robert Novak then ousted Joseph Wilson's wife, Valerie, or as we all came to know her, Valerie Plame Wilson, as a convert CIA agent and the rest is history.
And the incumbent president is always blamed when the country is going down the shitter, whether they caused it or not.

Bush wasn't that bad from what I saw. Sure the guy messed up here and there, but it's not like that's all he did. HE did good things too. But I can't remember them. Shame though that people will only remember you for the one bad thing despite the 100 good deeds that you did. But that's how people work
I have my own reason for hating the Bush family though...

At least now the U.S. can hope that whoever is elected can right the unfinished wrongs that were made over the course of Bush's presidency, and maybe, just maybe, we can give ourselves a break

...I don't know what you mean by that statement and I can't find any info on the results for some reason. o_O
I'm against it simply because it affects no one that's straight. If two people of the same sex want to get married, who am I to say no? It's not affecting me in anyway.
That and these commercials I watched while my dad was watching Chinese programming on DIrectTV were without a doubt the most ridiculous commercials I've ever seen.
Quote: lolcommercial (Note: it's a summary and it was in another language)
If marriage can be between:
Man + man
Woman + woman
Next thing you know marriage can be between:
Multiple men + woman
Man + child
(I think there was Man + dog and Man + mother/father in there too)
My reaction was:
wut
There was also an ad comparing same-sex marriage to shoes and at the end there was a message in generic, giant font that said:
IT'S NOT RIGHT!
like that sudden outburst was going to shock you into voting yes on the proposition. Cue hysteric laughter at marriage being compared to shoes.

The kickers that will really even things out over Obama's presidency are two things:
1) The Popular Vote: It's like a democratic George Bush. He only won the popular vote by a small margin, which means he will still have plenty of opposition when he tries to make change we can believe in.
2) The Mid-Term Elections: If things don't go so well with Obama, then people may choose to elect more republicans into the Senate, House, and other offices. (This is not a guarantee however)
My AP World History class today was devoted entirely to the election, and I thought these points were really interesting.

I've not voted too (France ^^"), but glad too see Obama won. Since G.W.Bush, our relationship with America wasn't good ... Hope it will get better with Obama's administration.
I remember yesterday at night that a bar show the election in live, and it was a very big joy when they know Obama has won
!
Also, I think it's an marvellous victory for "black people" (no I'm not racist, don't worry
) who was segregated during years... When I've checked some news on the Wii's News channel, I've seen some bad interviews about Obama's election and about their skin color <___< ...
Waiting for the 20th January when he will takes his functions

You forget that both houses of congress are now almost 60% Democratic. Looks like smooth-sailing for the new president.1) The Popular Vote: It's like a democratic George Bush. I'm a bit worried that both congress and the presidency are dominated by the same party. Whatever party you may be, it's not good for a single party to have that much authority in government.

We'll find out if it'll be a good thing or a bad thing. If it turns out to be bead, we always have the mid-term elections.

yeah. i know for sure that millions of people want to see a huge military cut on top of the 40,000 that were just recently force separated/retired from the air force alone due to "over manning" in turn weakening our country's defenses, of course we all wanted obama in office!

lots of people in the F-16 phase dock here at luke were talking about this shit today. its not right when people in the military feel like their job is threatened by a new president who doesnt support what we do. i feel pretty much screwed. my re-enlistment is september '09, just in time for obama to get this into effect should it pass. i'm qualified to work on A-10s/F-16s, and cash registers. i dont really want to go back to cash registers. i'm also one of the few that seems to be proud of the fact that he is in the military. i dont refer to my uniform as "slave clothes" like most do, i dont refer to my last name as my "slave name" like some do, and i dont dread putting my uniform on in the morning before i go to work. i like my job, and i feel like its slipping away from me. way to go obama.
also, no offense, but why would the opinion of canadians matter on this subject? he isnt running your country, why would canadians have anything to be pissed about if mccain won?

That's how it works in the UK. I'm not an expert on foreign government, but from what I can see, it isn't going that bad.Quote

The leader of a nation can have a huge impact on other nations. For example, say the economy begins to fall due to a new 5 trillion dollar spending on something (i know, just work with me here); the failing domestic economy has an impact on the cost and demand of imported goods. With less people buying, the foreign economy takes a hit as well.there are other factors, but you get the idea.

I'm happy Barack Obama won
The only thing I don't like about his victory is, (not trying to sound racist here) but the african americans simply voted for Barack just because he's black and turned his campaign into pop culture.
My sister knows a friend at work who's husband is black. He always votes Republican but this election he voted for Barack. Sound a little bit strange?
Don't make what I said as racist! I think Barack will be a great president.

what your stating is actually true in some. my sister did a survey of a class asking who do you support and mostly everyone said Obama. Then she asked why and no one answered. My sister is in Grade 12 so they are close the the voting age so it can kind of be compared to the young voters in the US. but i know there are other voters with reasons why they voted for Obama.
