Just throwing in my 2cents here after hearing this somber good news. But might working with the heads of Project Outfox or Starlight XX discords work as a temporary solution for now? Only giving them the files to see if everything is working for an undisclosed amount of time and then releasing the update to the public...or would that just bring us back to square one?

I know people can't really control what others do in this kind of situation, best you can do is an honor code and hope something like this doesn't happen again

why do people keep explicitly bringing up xx with this shit
we are not associated with this project at all, and we do not have plans to change that in any way
people have been hounding the devs about this and it's getting to the point of absurdity - we're happy you enjoy starlight, but it's time to stop trying to connect dots that aren't even there

you weren't the one being addressed. you behaving like this won't win you any favors. this is an issue that has cropped up from multiple people across multiple websites and servers. to the point where it's become genuinely frustrating for the entire dev team when we have people in our dms trying to get us to make statements on things we have no association with.

and i don't want people on my team to continue being swarmed by fans of your team's project over things our team has nothing to do with. hence my statement. surely you can understand why this would be frustrating.

cute but you trying to use my statement telling people to chill on having actual meltdowns over stepmania dancing characters can't be applied to me voicing frustrations of a team routinely being hounded over said dancing characters, said team having no involvement in said characters. don't know what you're attempting to achieve with this one but i don't think it'll be coming off in your favor.

It may be because ever since this project was created we've been asked the same thing over and over again. We've been contacted directly about this and we say the same thing every single time yet people continue to ask us. We have no problem with people using the dancing characters, but we've made it clear we don't want to officially support this system time and time again. Sorry if we came off as the aggressors here.

Yeah, I'm glad some kind of resolution was reached. Also confused as to why the XX comment triggered some kind of anger. Dude probably had no idea it's been requested loads before.

The thing is that it's the other way around: this project was originally designed with limited compatibility to a specific theme and added further support for the Starlight theme. However, in doing so, many, like you, got the mistaken impression that the two projects are actually collaborating when it's a one-way process, and so especially when the initial drama about the project being pulled was going on, the XX team got swamped with questions in regards to it. I think the prudent thing would be for Encisso and crew, once this project is back in action proper, to make more clear that the teams are not affiliated.

Encisso made it very clear on his GitHub page and I never once said that the two projects are collaborating. Ever. Literally nothing I’ve said would give the impression that I think that, you’re just making that up.

Seriously, I even said issues with the dancers were Encisso’s problem and not the STARLiGHT team’s in the STARLiGHT thread.
