And it still has Shock Arrows. This is not a good sign.

I have a dumb question!
It's prolly been answered, but after looking at that cuddly bear doing DDR, I was like... how are people putting X2 on older machines? I thought there weren't any upgrades...?

Drift issue has been fixed since the Blackpool location test.

Sorry to bump but seriously. Unless you have been recently this is impossible.

Just played the final release cab at Round1...

*Pads are a MAJOR improvement over X. I had no issues AAing songs, I sightread AAA'd EZ Do Dance.
*No unlocked songs from the start. It's basically the same songlist as what Japan had in the beginning.
*BeForU songs are available from the start.
*The HP3 challenge charts are selectable. Delta max oni isn't
*I played a 9-9-8 set with Risky and got Kimono Princess on basic in extra stage.
*Top song scores are saved like in SN1.
*Still unsure if Replicant is available by some prerequisite.

Is Round1's SuperNOVA2 still around? (and if so, did they fix the gd pads yet. Can't play Doubles for shit when freezes and jumps and random arrows don't trigger.)

Also, how are the X2 pads, sound/feel-wise? In bemanistyle's latest videos, they sounded... very different. (and how do you feel about overall sync - a little early, just right, or varies?)

Awesome, I'll be getting back to LA tomorrow. Who's down for a get-together sometime?

I felt such little difference that I assumed it was just an upgrade to X2 from X (which BMS says they don't offer). In fact, I still don't really believe that this is a legit X2 cab from what I've heard about the differences (read: US got gypped again). They felt exactly the same as X pads only a little less painful to play on and less empty. Still looked like they had the uniform piece over the arrows that would make it next to impossible to fix the pads in a reasonable fashion.

I still sightread AAA'd some IIDX song, but whatever. It's DDR. That's easy to do. The only thing that was hard about AAAing stuff in X was that X lagged REALLY badly so if you played by sight you'd get goods instead of marvelouses. Timing for X2 felt pretty good. Definitely later than SN2 though, so switching between the two was really hard.

Also did they just get this cab? If so I'm lucky. I randomly went today. Visiting from the Washington, DC area...

I played 3 sets and pretty much all of the IIDX crossovers in the X2 folder, in addition to the new Hero chart, and Tenshi. All of the charts were fun, honestly. Konami did that much right.

If only this had been done in SN2/X, maybe we'd still have people caring about this. If only :< Still, I'm so glad they finally realized that they were retarded to remove local high scores. Looking forward to seeing this at more places hopefully.

pretty much what daggett said is true cause i was doing most of the playing. pads are better than when i played at the launch party. also you can play edits on this machine. the extra stage system is still uncertain cause i played a much harder set and i didnt get it and i tried the random final stage AA type like SN2 and STILL didnt get it. as far as syncing issues i say if you know the song then youre good to go. i will be there tomorrow

The improvement was in the internal design not external. If you look at the BMS videos, the single metal sheet is still intact, the squishy feeling is still there, but the consistency of your steps have greatly improved. The fact you could AAA charts is a HUGE improvement over the original X pads.
