Hi, not all thin pads are crap. CFs are 1 inch thick, and are quite nice. Thickness is really no indication of quality.

Hey. Most of the ones on ebay are thin and crappy like the ones sold on ddrgame.com. You don't see that many CFs/Blue Sharks on ebay anyways. Thickness, while it is not a direct indication of quality, does make the pads look a bit flimsy and more easily breakable, like all those terrible home pads. Also, considering it is made by betson, if it is like their SN2 cabs, it'll probably be pretty bad.

Betson could make a pad three miles thick and it would still break.

"Crazed At Traffic."
I just read the reports on the DDR X machine in North America
and I'm disappointed by Betson. The Buttons on the machine as far on the cell phone photos look horrible.
Hollywood Park Arcade prototype buttons were better.

And the pads look thin enough for a 6'5 giant to step on them and break them in half.

Lags and pad sensitivity I get, there's some bad pads here in the UK too and of course the lags, who can forget the lags?

I'm in the Us for at least 4 weeks, and I'm in town so I'll go and check it out myself.
and I'll also see if I can get some decent pictures.
Hopefully, I won't be wasting my money playing the game.

Well done Konami, you have totally biased yourself towards Guitar Hero. All hail GH:AC, and its RIDICULOUSLY NICER CABINET.

Guitar Hero Arcade uses the same exact components as DDRX AC. They're both made in the same factory in Cardiff.I think it's even the exact same monitor and speaker systems.

The top marquee and subwoofers are the same as th GH AC ones.

I'm not so interested in those ranking courses, especially #6. I don't this I will score consistantly high on that one.

As for #5, weren't Butterfly and boys X-edit alreading in a ranking course before?

They need to be more creative. Maybe like a course featuring the X-specials.

Course #5 is a homage to the first 4 songs in the DDR 1st and 2nd Mix NONSTOP MEGAMIX

Course#6 is obvious lol...and it DOES sound tiring given those stepcharts.

Hopefully the last 2 ranking courses will be more epic...

As far as the lack of an official site, I was looking at the event log for Supernova 2 and noticed this:

2008-04-17 - Official site opened.
2008-04-03 - ZUKIN WARS episode one starts.
2008-03-27 - MOONSTER and SUNKiSS♥DROP unlocked.
2008-03-17 - First e-AMUSE capable machine confirmed.
2008-01-17 - First machine confirmed.

The Official site didn't open until 3 months after the machines started to appear in the US. So we're expecting the site to open up around September? owch

Conversion kits arrived about a month later, which isn't that bad at all.

If new style 13s are tiring for you, you aren't skilled enough to compete against other people.

You're an idiot.

Not everyone can play those songs continuously with out experiencing some extra fatigue.

Also I rarely see people have competitions involving courses...other than Internet Rankings.

Update patch for DDRX can be updated thru USB from Konami. My local arcade, some of the DDRX locations couldn't download the patch, & they somehow got the USB sent by Konami to fix the update problem.

You're inexperienced.

Look up a bit at Dr.D's score. I think that shows pretty well that skilled competitive players don't get that tired from those songs.
Just because you can't warm up with something like SKD doesn't mean that it's uncommon for skilled players to warm up with a hard 9, then do a course of 5 easy to mid 9s after warming up. As a personal example, I played EotC D-Heavy a dozen times in a row with no breaks, getting consistent scores with very little variation, trying to FC it. If that stuff was tiring, then I wouldn't be able to do that.

Given that Internet Rankings happened for SN2 (did they happen for SN1?), and they're doing them for X, I'd say that players over there expect at least this area of competition to involve hard courses, and prepare appropriately. You'd have a different view of the rarity if Internet Rankings had been spread across the US.
