I've decided not to post rankings this week solely because there were many files that were really well done step-wise, but as Gameoson said, it seemed like a lot of people added unnecessary speed changes for the sake of making it fit the theme. There were especially an excess of times where the BPM was doubled when it definitely should not have been. It just made the chart a pain to read. So basically, these votes take into account the steps and how organic the speed changes are.

I couldn't tell if you are referring to the fact that LUVORATORRRRRY! is spelled really obscurely or if I fucked up the tag somewhere (.sm, gfx, simfile page). Just to make sure what are you referring to? I'm paranoid now LOL.


I have a general question that maybe someone here can help me out with. So I play files with SM5 and I've noticed that whenever I have videos with quality greater than 480p, the video stretches really weirdly. Example given: vincentw's D2 file.



From the looks of it, the height is unaffected, but the width is completely overstretched. I don't know why this keeps happening with 720p and 1080p videos, which is why my AVIs (when I include them) are usually 480p. I've tried fiddling with the Graphics Options but that doesn't really help. Thoughts anyone?

OK so just as a heads up, I don't know if this is a problem still, but I remember a few years back during the first Simfile Shuffle, my file for Who's That Chick? wasn't downloading properly in the pack. The error was caused by the question mark at the end of the title. I'm pretty sure it's fine when you download the file itself, but once the whole pack is generated and downloaded, the files with obscure punctuation may run the risk of being omitted. That's why excluded the ! in LUVORATORRRRRY's simfile page when uploading it. What I'm trying to say is if you can, it might be in your best interest to try to exclude the punctuations when uploading to ZIv but keeping them in the .SM/.SSC.

Might as well just leave off the final punctuation everywhere, so the filenames match the .sm and don't get messed up with the auto ZIP renaming. Just to be safe. Like that one time in the category whose title doesn't have a comma in the title.

Or just use a custom ZIP. Whatever floats your boat. But then it seems useless to upload the separate files.

Actually, the problem is just with the ? in the title. ? can't be used in the name of any file on your computer. If you checked off Auto Generate ZIP when you uploaded the file, the file would have attempted to download as "Who's That Chick?", but since the ? can't appear in the file name something screwy happened. The ! in LUVORATORRRRRY should be okay though.

Sorry to make you paranoid! It's the title on the simfile page (LUVORTATORRRRY!), the SM file and graphics are fine. Meh, it's fine not to correct them since reuploading all of the things for one letter that ultimately affects so little is not worth it.

It seems that Bassdrop Freaks has been falling into this category. Personally, I feel the song warranted the brief BPM changes / stops. There was enough of a change in the song.
I honestly thought this file would be more popular than Hungarian Dances. What do you other people think? I'd like to get more opinions. If not here in the thread, then maybe via PM.
