I already requested these a few months ago to be added under the game series "Treasure shooters". I intended these to be together since Ikaruga is considered the spiritual successor to the former (and by the same developer, hence 'Treasure'). IIRC a few years ago, shooters from the company Cave (Mushihime, Espgaluda, etc.) used to be in a group but have since been split up.

If splitting the games up into their own series (despite having different game names) is the best manner to make the games easier to find and add to a location, then I wish there was a better way to identify that they're a related series without. It is pointless to have one game in it's own series when it could be linked to other related or spin-off games (like Time Crisis and Crisis Zone, which are in separate series as of typing this).

I think inventing groupings like that is an objectively bad call and will only lead to duplicate entries as people have to specify series before game to find things. No one is going to think to search for a grouping named after the game's developer. The splitting of the Cave games is definitely the correct decision, and honestly I think Pinball should be split up as well.

Nonetheless, there is a very real problem with finding some games in the current setup. Maybe it would be better to have fulltext searches instead of forcing users to deal with two-tiered dropdowns of doom? Case in point, I only found out, by accident, that Blazing Star is filed under Pulstar.
