Seemed much tighter to me at the Jersey Gardens Loctest.

TERRA remains pretty popular, with three of their songs appearing in the top 30 songs. The Japanese licenses also remain fairly popular, three of the five have been in the top 30 since its release. Likewise, all of SMiLE.dk's new songs have been in the top 30 since its release as well.

Yah, my bad... Whichever the 5th mix Paranoia is... they all sound the same to me.

I played those 3 songs since i was under the impression the difficulties needed to add up to 43. 40 seems far more manageable.

About all these songs being dropped, did Naoki just compose the instrumentals and not write the lyrics? I was under the assumption that he wrote the songs too and thus, the lyrics would not have to be changed. What are we to do when Paula Terry's stuff leaves? Still In My Heart, Passion of Love, Burnin' the Floor, Can't Stop Fallin' in Love, Broken My Heart, so many classics will get axed ;_;

On the Pop'n page for "will", "shio" makes an interesting comment:

I've played the one in Crestwood, Illinois and Elizabeth, New Jersey.

But I haven't got the chance to go to California to try that one out, but for now the LED on the Illinois one,
is horrible.
The New Jersey one is better.



and It's kind of sad that End Of The Century is getting deleted from the DDR X Arcade versions.

That report of the Life drain for the one in New Jersey is not true.
Unless they changed it, It's been almost 4 weeks since I went there.

We have no idea how the contracts work, which songs are going to be removed, or why they're being removed.

The only thing we know is that the following things happened.

* Lots of BeForYou songs are re-recorded with new vocals and lyrics
* Most BeForYou songs are removed from DDR games

* Lots of Argie Phine songs are re-recorded with new vocals and lyrics
* Most Argie Phine songs are removed from DDR games

* Lots of Londell Hicks songs are re-recorded with new vocals and lyrics
* Most Londell Hicks songs are removed from DDR games

The latter had their songs removed exactly 10 years after they were published. The BeForYou songs were recorded with new vocalists over 4 years ago, but never used until now.

It's all speculation, but the obvious signs point to the fact that Konami are no longer wishing (or able) to use work done by these artists, probably because the original contracts are so old that they've now run out.

There's no reason to assume that Paula Terry's songs will get dropped.

But, Naoki still compose some non-instrumental songs.
Example like:
A Geisha's Dream, vocal by SMiLE.dk
will, vocal by frances maya.

Maybe the next vocalist who replace the Paula Terry's is frances maya.
That's my assumption.

These removals may have prompted Konami's new stance on commissioned/KO songs. Apparently Commission artists actually sign the entire song over to Konami these days and retain pretty much 0 rights to the song. But this is just what I have heard.

Some things to try, 1 of 3.

"Sunkiss {Heart} drop", "Raspberry {Heart} heart", and "Freeway shuffle" normally do not have Challenge steps but they do have. Here's what you do. Make sure you do this with plenty of time left on the timer.

Step A1. Make sure that the desired song before or after that has Challenge steps. If it does not, you need to change the way the list of songs are sorted in order for that song prior or next to that has Challenge steps. Highlight that song then select Expert. (For example. Highlight "Freeway shuffle". Sort list of songs by title or ABC. Highlight "Flight of the phoenix". Select Expert.)

Step A2. Step [Down arrow panel] two consecutive times, making sure that stepping [Down arrow panel] for the second time and pressing [Yellow right button] must be done simultaneously. If not, you have to do step A1 again.

Step A3. Press down [Start]. You can freely modify any options except "Challenge".


Some things to try, 2 of 3.

Doing the following will result in hang after closing the 2 rusty metal doors followed by machine restart. It is recommended that you do this on encore extra stage and no credits are pending. Make sure you do this with plenty of time left on the timer.

Step B1. Highlight "Dynamite rave". Select Challenge. Sort list of songs by title or ABC.

Step B2. Step [Up arrow panel] two consecutive times, making sure that stepping [Up arrow panel] for the second time and pressing [Yellow right button] must be done simultaneously. If not, you have to do step B1 again.

Step B3. Press [Start].


Some things to try, 3 of 3.

On encore extra stage, choose any song with shock arrows (For example, "Butterfly [2008 X-edit]".).
Select Challenge.
When you step on shock arrows, 1life on the gauge is not taken away.

WTF are you talking about? Those three songs have their CHALLENGE steps freely accessible. No glitching necessary.

IIRC, Venus's are unlocked by default.

Here in the Philippines, the two arcade machines of DDR X are in local mode. They are being updated manually.

I stand corrected. No DDR X AC (beta or otherwise) nearby means I only know as much as I know from people here.

The machine at Jersey Gardens is actually decent? That's news to me. I'm just aware of the lag there, nothing else really though.

It's been ages since I've played there though since it's still in a relatively early beta version... Nothing really worth running back to.
