DDR X2 (AC) (International)

Actually, to DDR AC it is new. To Japan it's new. To the arcade it's new. I'd even suffice to say that in the song lists, roppongi evolved isn't listed as a "From Home Version" as there is no home version for it in Japan.

Konami don't count american releases, we just get an early glimpse of new songs this way, because the american holiday season starts 3 months before the japanese holiday season.

Too bad I can't get a clear video of the chart since it's only unlockable in Japan atm.

It was in MUSIC FIT, released last January for Wii in Japan, before X2. However, Ver. D is new to AC, so take that as you will.
U1 never said there would be a new evolved on X2. He only ever talked about the new evolved on DDR PS3/HP4.

2MB hasn't made a remix in recent memory aside from Pluto Relinquish, and since U1 is definitely still coming out with new songs, the new EVOLVED song might be by 2MB. (Or 2MB underground!)

Then again, having something like "roppongi EVOLVED (remix)" might be defeating the purpose of the EVOLVED series because each mix is supposed to be a different city.

Song speculation is siiiiiiiiilly, but I think a 2MB remix of Possession is the most likely. It seems to suit it.

the 2MB alias has always been for remixes of Naoki songs. Since roppongi is TAG, it would break tradition for U1 to remix it under the 2MB alias.

Depends on where you draw the line... It will always be a Howard tune to me.

Saying that the 2MB alias only remixes Naoki produced tracks is kind of off-balanced. And this mix seems to like breaking old constants anyway.

They just re-used the name to be cute. Howard had previously mentioned that "Captain T" was just a name someone at Konami had come up with after he'd already recorded the 3rd Mix songs, and he had no idea if it was meant to stand for "Thomas" or not.


I don't think there's any consistancy worth following, anymore. For a while, 2MB songs were always reserved for the CS boss song, and they did away with that on both SuperNOVA games, and just bundled them into the arcade versions.

As I said, trying to guess songs is silly, but if they do have a U1 boss song (whether it uses the 2MB tag, or not), Possession seems the one that's best suited for the "2MB treatment". They could do something really drastic with one of the Naoki songs, but Possession seems to fit the mould, and it's by the game's sound producer.
