The whole cost thing is the reason Konami is reworking the e-amusement structure, even in Japan. Most of the cost incurred when getting e-amusement is spent on the router you need to connect to the service, and then static IP + $50 a month for the service itself. When I was at the playtest the other day I spoke with the VP of Amusements for Konami and he point blank told me that they're changing the service (even in japan) to no longer need the router or static IP with the hopes that lower cost will make it more attractive to arcade owners. And with there not being any necessary hardware to purchase, Konami wouldn't need a partner to distribute the routers and such.

Still not a guarantee that we'll see it, but it's most definitely a step in the right direction for a worldwide rollout.

Konami probably shouldn't have done it that way in the first place. Not needing the router would have saved them money in the long run.

Hopefully with the restructure (which we probably won't see until after DDR X3), there wouldn't be any need for a monthly service fee. If PSN can do it, why can't anyone else?
So in my brief return, I am going to slowly but surely work on a new simfile mix called TEMPEST. Still workin' on it. Preview -->

We need to wait for a future official announce for all the regions about the change of minimal system requeriments for e-amusement systems...
With the cost reduced, the only thing you need to buy from KDE is the e-AMUSEMENT cards, in order to have access to e-AMUSEMENT service. (same thing as happened with Card Game)
Dynamic IPv4 and IPv6 should be compatible with e-amuse servers.

The more I see Valkyrie Dimension Heavy, the more I feel like this song is either not going to get an Oni, or it'll get a lazy oni with shock arrows replacing major steps.

I'm thinking all the Replicant-D songs have Oni steps... They just need to be, ya know, unlocked.... Dead

Just because it has shock charts doesn't make it lazy. Smoooooch says hi.

Smooooch is a special case. Normally, Konami can't really use shock arrows. Horatio CS and Pluto The First say hi.

It's just strange. Of all the things to dethrone only my railgun, I really wouldn't have pegged sakura storm as being that popular. Tongue

"o_O?"
sakura storm doesn't sound bad in my opinion. The problem with it is the actual song is only 40 seconds long. The chart looks pretty fun to me.

People, I'm sure this is just a temporary movement while Sakura Storm is fresh to the DDR X2 scene. After all, without DDR Universe 3 (I think) the majority of Japan wouldn't have had access to Sakura Storm before this. Hence why Dirty Digital made it onto the list for a short while too. OMR should be back to #1 next month.
