Nope, if you look up videos of MAX 300 being played on DDR 2014, there is no BG video. And there is no way that you can turn off Bg videos through options. However, MAX 300 did have it's video in DDR 2013, but it was hidden in code, and can only be accessed by hacking, and the video was played on VANESSA's stage. The video was later removed in DDR 2014.
The article that stated MAX 300 has its video was originally wrong, and later changed after finding the right info. (yes, i am talking about remy wiki)

It's in the 2013 data and was revealed for use in simfiles with the rest of the retro BGAs re-added by razorblade. It does have 2 major variances from the original though: the still background now forms in these particles cascading from both sides of the screen, and the still is cropped to 16:9 to match the rest of the video.

Technically it's the video from Extreme (the Extreme version has an animation of those spikes falling down, while the MAX version has the spikes spinning around with a flame background), but yeah, it's pretty much the same video.

Apparently D&B is getting their DDR machines in the summer and R1 is getting theirs anytime from May to July, so I'd say it's coming in May or earlier.

Although we could technically end up with 2014 as DDR A was never explicitly mentioned as coming to the US, in which case the release date is unknown. But why would Konami give us a 2/3-year-old game?

I'm going to say the Japanese version will come out on March 30th (if the Twitter post is true), which would make sense with R1/D&B getting the US version in May-July.

Even if we do get DDR 2014 for some weird reason, I don't think upgrading to A is gonna be any different than how the Japanese BEMANI games have been getting updates since 2013.

Considering Jubeat Quebell is going to be released late March/early April, we could say the same about DDR A since it was announced in the same month as Quebell, I think, may have to do reasearch and end up editing this post later on.

Well actually, the touch screen is on the ground where the pad would be and then when you play a song, the touchscreen serves as a DDR pad. No need to repair a touchscreen DDR pad!
