DDR II & hottest party 5 (Wii) (International)

...you know, i like this game-only deal, but this is very well going to be my very first Wii DDR game and i would like to also have a Bundled version of it too.

that or i could just get a bundled version of Hottest Party 2 or 3 or whichever one didn't suck and use that Wii Mat

I really wonder why we haven't heard any news for playstation. I know this was already discussed but it really has me wondering. Remember when Naoki asked if we'd want a downloadable version of the second game? I wonder if this will just be transfered over to playstation like they've been doing lately.

Get Hottest Party 3 or DDR 2010 then, both were bundled sets I believe. D: And both are the best of the DDR Wii games imo.


Well, CRAZY LOVE, Let's Get Away, and ever snow are a given, right? D: Megamix 2 and 3 had TERRA songs in them, the 2010 megamix should have one too.

I'd want to see On the Night of a Still Wind, or IN THE ZONE, or Curry Up...'cause I like those songs the most I guess. OTL

Was excited for new screenshots, but they don't really show anything new. Hopefully an official site opens up soon with a few more songs revealed and some music previews for some of the Konami Originals.

I wonder if they're planning any one of those launch parties in America again? I remember last year the announcement came out of the blue with very little notice before the event actually happened.

I'm allowed to think this. ._. Other than DDR X, I've never seen anything better on the PS2 games, having tried all the games from Extreme and up. And the only arcade in Anchorage (and possibly Alaska!) is a SuperNova arcade, so I can't give an honest opinion there.

They should come out with a sampler CD when you place a hold on the game. I always wanted one of those, but the last one the made came out before I started playing DDR.

/sigh Characters are not important to the gameplay of DDR. Music choice and stepchart quality are what make or break a mix. No single mix in the history of DDR has ever failed or succeeded due to character choice. The drop of the HP characters is likely due to people wanting DDR to be more like the AC version again and the Wii is currently the system of choice for DDR games (according to sales figures).

The biggest feature I look forward to is the inclusion of full version songs. As long as a full version does not count in their tally of "total songs" (i.e. 35 songs + 15 full versions of those songs). I am sad to see choreography mode go away, but I think the Just Dance/Dance Masters hype is died down and is no longer the in thing to do.

And really, all I want now is edit mode. You can use all BG videos or all characters, use new ones, Hottest Party ones, the old versions of Lady and Afro, I honestly don't care as they do not add any value to the replay of the game. Things that add value to the game are things that bring you back. When choosing to play between Hottest Party 3 and DanceDanceRevolution (2010) I don't factor in which characters are in which version, I factor in what songs are on what disc. I factor in do I want to wave my arms around or strictly step. Do I want Goods to count or break my combo.

Characters are nice, but honestly, if you get bent out of shape over that, you shouldn't even bother playing DDR and just look up fan art of the characters on Google images all day.

People can honestly care less about the characters since they don't affect gameplay in the slightest besides dancing to the BPM in the PS2 series / arcade, and even then they are insignificant.

Yes, they are insignificant, but people want them, as you have seen by fiery's obsession.

But like Daiz said a MAJORITY of players care more about stepcharts and songlists than characters as those will make the mix. What made X crap? Not the characters, but the song selection and stepcharts.

Whenever I look for a game, I never ask myself, "What characters are on here? Is it worth it?" The first thing that registers me with each mix is the songlist, which is then followed by the quality of the stepcharts. Sure, I would be slightly displeased to not being able to play Alice in certain versions, but I forget after a second and just put dancers on random or as in pre-Supernova just turn them off.
