"ARR JOO LEADY??" |
Grading scale for 2011/all systems is VERY different. Ridiculously lenient, to the point where "AA" means "you kinda sucked." It's basically akin to "Arcade DDRUSA" grading.
Start any pop song on Standard difficulty. Don't press any arrows whatsoever. More than likely, you won't walk away with anything less than a "C." XD
But I must agree. IN THE ZONE kicks so much ass, and MAGIC PARADE is easily in my top 10 songs in the game. Wicked Plastik, Until The End, and the new coveremix of "ever snow" rocks pretty hard too. And who doesn't love the boss songs? There was a niftier-sounding-than-it's-preview-let-onto NAOKI song too, but it wasn't "Let's Get Away..."
TIME needs to die in a burning bag of "certified preowned dog food." It's the new LET THEM MOVE/Forever Sunshine/Dance Floor song, be warned.
NEW YORK Evolved = WIN.
It's intelligently misdirectional for the most part; and can easily be mastered with a bit of foresight/effort, kind of like KI-SE-KI Expert, although there are a couple of pretty-much-mandatory quick turns that would bump it's difficulty in the the 17's range, right around where Trim or SILVER DREAM should be. Once you get the choreography down (hint: LOTS of starting off crossed over), it's not as bad as you first might expect; or nearly as convoluted as say, A Geisha's Dream (Ruffage Remix). The only thing that could possibly save AGD(RR) would be Shuffle, and guess what?

It's an opinion. The same reason some people like Magic Parade and others don't.

I honestly think that most of the KOs in this game are the reject KOs that did not make it into X2 AC and just bundled it up and called it a new DDR.
There are a few good ones but it really feels that way IMO.

I disagree. I love the KOs in this game and can't wait for the next (Arcade?) soundtrack because I want them on CD.

It bears mentioning too that these were done by the time DDR X2 PS2 came out. And then we waited for this version.

Well, I can't wait for these songs to be included in the arcade because I want to do the choreograph steps.

Anyone know if the DLC for the Xbox version is on disc like the other ones or downloadable? I don't have too much room on my hardrive left, but I can always make room if need be.
The game may be $40 but I'm for sure onna pick up all the msp I need to download all the DLC when I first get it. So it'll come to about $70.

DLC will always be downloadable, very rarely DLC would ever be put onto a disc.

I think the only DDR game series to have actual DLC, as in you download a few hundred MBs of data, not 2MB or lower, are the Ultramix and the DDR S/S+ series.
The rest had BUC (Buy to unlock content).

All of the DLC packs are about 23 MB each.

Trim is a 16 and definitely is no harder than that. SILVER DREAM is a 15, and I agree with that because it's pretty much the same as KIMONO PRINCESS, except with the most awkward stepping ever. I really don't get the impression that the more awkward of the DDR PS3 charts are intentional, especially since Pie discovered the step team is 66% of the HP2 step team, and they wrote some of the worst charts in all DDR. New York EVOLVED just doesn't strike me as deliberately awkward.
There's a reason why the HP1 and HP3 jun boss songs are on AC, but not the HP2 one, even with the altered chart from DDR S which somewhat fixes it (but not entirely).
As for the music, I love a bunch of the KOs. I feel the weakest tracks are found in the commissions, some of which feel like rejects from long ago. But the stuff from the KONAMI team are great, IMO. Well, some of the NAOKI tracks have the "quickly thrown together" feel, but he still has to score more of this game than anyone else, so it's hard to blame him.

Tell that to Namco, Capcom, EA, 2K, and the other companies who put the 'DLC' on disc, but sell the missing line of code on the marketplace. Hell, even Konami did it with the DDR UNIVERSE games.Quote: mageman17

The Ultramixes, IIRC, were in the same boat as the Universes. The rest had BUC (Buy to unlock content).
