Basically, Groove Trigger takes Half of your life to add more points to your score. Depending on if you are good enough to hit every arrow then it would be good. The BIGGEST problem is that it brightens the screen ALOT which can throw you off guard.

Groove Trigger, is when your groove gauge is full, then you either slide your foot from UP to A or UP to B to activate the bonus period.

Edit: Ninja'd, the screen doesn't go bright. It INVERTS the background video colours.

Okay yeah, that "five Groove Triggers in one song" achievement is sounding kinda ass now.

Remember with Groove Triggers and Chain Arrows you can easily get scores over 1,000,000. You can get 2mil on MAX 300 without too much trouble.

Also, are AAA's much easier to get? They really dumbed down the grading on PS3, like to the point where not playing the song is still a AA or just about.
