Mei's Oni chart is great and all and looks fun until you get to the end.
Does no one else think that the last crossover double-step run thing is complete bullshit?
it doesn't flow at all. at least in H-D-V Oni the crossovers flow into each other but Mei's ending is stupid.

i think it's a shame because the rest of the chart deserves the praise it's getting, just that one part really bugs me and I can't be the only one who dislikes it.

Just when you think DDRX2 can't get any better, it gets better. This is the best DDR ever, undoubtfully. KoJ DOES listen to their fans, unlike their pesky American and European divisions.


Yeah because 18s are played all the time by all the players.

These kind of charts are made with top-tier players in mind, players that with enough practice will eventually conquer this and even worse stuff. There are hundreds of easier songs in the game for you to enjoy (there's even an expert chart for Mei, you know?).

I want this game. Yet again.

i think it's stupid because the arrow placement is poor. the rest of the chart's runs are hard but they're fun. valkyrie's runs are hard but they're fun. i just think that section could've been improved.

Ack, I hear two ridiculous arguments of the Mei difficulty debate here. "The difficulty is inconsistent" and "It's too easy for an 18."

Last I remember, difficulty was never a constant thing in a song. Max 300, for example, has sections of 4th notes only, and sections with both 4ths and 8ths! Directly proceeding each other! If you just took the parts with 4ths, well it would probably only be rated an 11! And don't forget that gimmicky slowdown in the middle where you don't hit -any- notes at all! I think it's safe to say that DDR boss songs are pretty inconsistent with their difficulty at times.

Point 2: Mei is 200bpm, with scores of 16th notes. That's exactly the same as 400bpm with 8th notes. When you consider that the run before the slowdown is reminiscent of Relinquish 's endrun, and the penultimate section is closer to 's run, it's -really- not that easy. (even Valkyrie dimension isn't that much harder because of its final run, just surprising)

But on another note, I too think that Mei with a challenge chart is overdoing it. Oh well, as long as we still have heavy~

I think a point was brought up when Mei was first introduced about how Konami shouldn't make Mei a copy of its IIDX chart (I believe the phrase was "2000 NOTES MUST REPLICATE" or something), and when its chart showed up without being a copy of its IIDX chart, people weren't complaining.
I'm still sticking to my belief that, if Konami's original intent was actually putting Mei to attract other gamers a la A and Xepher, Mei should have been MUCH easier, even on its chart. Its chart is just bad, and feels like it's forced. Players do think that Mei is THE ULTIMATE BOSS SONG DSOIAGODSCBHJOIETGOQWEHJTRE and should contain 2000 notes, until they realize that DDR =/= IIDX, or even ITG. Though some charts are sufficiently WTF as in ITG (such as Valkyrie Dimension and Pluto Relinquish ), Mei really shouldn't be one of them.

^ Uh yeah, that started to show up during DDR X. During that time, Jenny dances the guy's routines 30% of the time...while Baby-lon dances the girl's routines 75% of the time. (But that was only for two characters)

Now, I've seen Jenny, Geisha-Zukin and Bonnie dance the guy's routines.

Are you talking of the part at 2:00-2:02 ?
If you look closely, there is no double steps at all. Only crossovers, lot of them.
BUT imo, it's total garbage. And like you and many people already said, it doesn't go with the style of the music at all.
Also, hard crossovers on 16th at 200bpm ? Relinquish shittyness style >.>
They broke the Mei chart here (even if it wanst' that good already).
Before the insane part at 2:00 there is some triplet involving doublesteps that i don't like.
Also the slowdown isn't great.

They could have made a better imo. A 19, a 18 or even a 17. But with better steps for sure.
Also, why do we have so much 18 and still no 19 ?

I wonder if VANESSA and ZETA will get Challenge charts too? Though they pretty much got everything I could imagine out of VANESSA, can't imagine a Challenge chart for it that isn't either shock arrows or sheer stupidity.

The Challenge charts for NIJIIRO, MAX LOVE, and Leaving... are really great. I'm really glad they're there, very well done. going up Expert also looks super fun. KONAMI has really delivered with this round of unlocks.

大体ミスするのは同じエリアですけどねｗ

1- Idk if MEI was connected with the marathon if someone can confirm that.
2- It's a medium 18 like HDVOni, not a hard 18 like VD or PROni.
3- Whoa, a controller?... I can made a AA on KB but in a controller it's... A hell ride.
