They tried that before... there was a fan mandate to bring them back.

I don't think a majority of the members here have a Blu-Ray Disk-ROM drive on their computers mageman, let alone both the game AND a BD-ROM

I do want characters, i mean, i think most of the current generation of DDR players new or old have grown up at least liking ONE character of the DDR series, so i do think they should at the very least bring the characters back for the next game, and also have an option of playing with the BG video of a song without the characters ala MAX2 US CS style.

100% for the option to turn characters on and off every once in a while, at least to please everybody. You may be staring at a blank stage that you can't choose, but if you think weird looking dancers are distracting, the blank stage is better than the gallons of flashing lights and bursting chains and craziness on DDR PS3 (unless there's an option to turn half of those off that I'm not aware of). Although, I have to say a couple of the X2 AC stages are about as flashy... but we will never see that on a console, evidently, so eh. xP

Still totally in the minority about Street Master Mode coming back... but at least it happened once, so whoo~

The characters were what got me into DDR. I only played it because I was a huge Gus and Robo-Zukin fan and didn't really think too much if scores until I realized that DDR was kind of my talent.

And I think that the option of turning the characters off works best because everyone can go with what they prefer.

Robo-Zukin is also my hero!
Same goes for the PiX, They're so adorable!
I really do wish they would return the characters somehow.
That would really help the series get back up on it's feet.

I have to see the song list first, and what other options there are, because if it's going to be a port of the PS3 version, but without the Move and Step, I'm not going to get it. IMO, instead of making a 360 port of the PS3 version, they should release more DLC for the version that's already out, and I don't know, include some songs from the arcade version of X2, like Decade, All My Love and Sakura Sunrise.

It'll be interesting to see a) if anything has changed (doubtful) and b) how well it will sell. For comparison, in the first 10 weeks of sales:

DDR Wii sold ~143k
DDR EXTREME2 sold ~165k

They will not include songs that debuted in X2 AC. CS and AC development are two different branches now and cater to two different crowds. It would be retarded to put songs that are so hard on a CS port considering they're near impossible to do on a soft pad.

It's not like X2 AC doesn't have songs that aren't 18s, and even then, that didn't stop them from Fascination MAXXing all over the DLC. Not that I think they'll put any X2 songs up for DLC either, or even any additional DLC period by this point.

They've released them for the freaking mobile application, they have no excuses not to release them for a console game.

It wouldn't be Konami of them to do so.

Just bought the 360 version. I'll give my initial opinion shortly after I start into it.

No videos, though. I don't currently have my DVD recorder setup at the moment.

- Why are there only about twenty songs on the starting songlist?

- Why does every background look like someone is shitting fireworks in my brain?

- How the hell did I get 165 Greats with 131 Perfects on Rescue Me despite how much time I put toward messing with the timing?

"Get all achievements" achievement is basically the PLATINUM trophy from PS3 ... wow, they really did direct port EVERYTHING.
