When were those songs released prior to this game to be considered popular??
We call that to do a marketing promotion, like those other ads you can see in the TVs, Internet and magazines.

Just posted on NAOKI's Facebook asking if any paid DLC is planned for Europe's PS3 DDR. Also added a comment that UK support don't reply to their e-mails.

Okay. Here is my quick review on this game in experience.
- The score system really gets my interest. Not sure about the grades though I am a bit confused about it at first.
- The interface does look appealing to me. However I think they should have stuck to their original interface from the beta trailer two years ago.
- The PlayStation Move feature (Move & Step) is one of the best modes in the game I enjoyed. Don't know what you guys think of this.
- Dance Pad is very sensitive and I can pull off high scores (e.g.: I got 3 greats on In The Zone on my sightread). No worries there. However since it is a soft non-slip ddr controller it does slip slightly and manufacturers need to work and improve on it in future.
- Songlist is quite 'meh' to me . Somehow I prefer KO songs other than licenses in the game. Konami seriously needs to take responsiblity of dishing out more DLC internationally. They did good with DDR S+ so I think now's the time to do the same to this game.
I haven't got through with club mode just yet but will do soon.

Club Mode is fantastic. It reminds me of grinding unlocks DDRMAX2 JP, and it's probably the best unlock system so far.
I really want to try it with the included mat, since I'm too lazy to re-wire my Cobalt Flux. Hopefully used copies will start popping up in Game soon.
The only real gripe I have with the game is that there are trophies that require a Move controller :{

Nope. Just checked Basingstoke last weekend they haven't got it at HMV or GAME or CEX.
It seems that I can't get the Premium Pack yet on the PSN store. Konami had said they already released it right? (Just to be sure)

You have to go to the PSN Store via XMB and look in the "Latest" section, it's somewhere in there.
There's nothing when you go via the in-game store.

I think the selection of licenses are decent, but the stepcharting needs to be less sandbagged. It's clear at least for a little part of each song, *some* Expert-level stuff was considered - but it looks like they were completely crippled later in development. Compare the first ~20 seconds of Bad Romance to the entire rest of the chart, for a perfect example.
I too, love Club Mode; although I think Hidden/Sudden would make better "early phase" tricks, and arrow displacement should be higher-level instead. Octo-Move is wicked fun, too; although compounding the diagonals on the side-panels can get a little disorienting (plus, it removes the fun Solo Mode jumping thing like L + UL).
There's TWO new catas on the whole mix? Really? ~.~'
TIME can go die in a fire. Seriously, it's the "LET THEM MOVE" of the mix; only without any redeeming qualities it had. And who the hell charted "A Geisha's Dream (Ruffage Remix)?!" It would have great potential... except that "Shuffle" doesn't appear to be available - and that's a MUST-shuffle chart. Just.... guh. A true catastrophe in every sense.
I really like the way step judgements and presses can trigger certain background effects, too. That's a ridiculously awesome touch that reminds me of the kind of unique flair Ultramix titles once pulled off.
__________
I think it's safe to assume that "console DDR" and "arcade DDR" are basically being distributed as two, almost totally seperate entities now. Almost like the inverted-approach of coinciding a few songs between DDR 2nd/3rd Mix and Solo 2000.

It's still a bit of disappointment that no further new DLCs news have been released beside those that are available now... Same goes for DanceMasters with just a bunch of costume changes but no new musics DLCs... >_<

I figured out why the game is rated a 12. I'm Yours / Jason Mraz has the word "damn" in the lyrics.

Sounds to me like now, their total focus - including of the Konami Play events - is to get the 360-versions of their games (or just DDR?) up and going. PS2's DLC took what... about a month and a half to surface? And I'm fairly certain that a grip of Ultramix/Universe/Unleashed DLC will follow the 360 release, in much the same manner; but hopefully all of the DLC will be cross-platform, so PS3'ers can buy the UM/Un stuff and vice versa.
In the meantime, I think it's been made pretty clear what we hope for/expect in future DDR's, we've been rattling them for 6 months solid. Maybe all we're doing now is distracting them from execution... which will inevitably result in another rushed and botched release. I'm pretty sure none of us wants that.
In fact, probably the best thing we can do to ensure better quality mixes is to share music videos and stepchart edits via YouTube/Facebook. ;) Keep the crew inspired!

I don't think New Moves was rushed at all. For something that obviously had to be built from the ground up, it looks amazing, and the fact that the actual gameplay feels like previous DDR games is a huge achievement in itself. It could have been so much worse, and if you look at how previous games in the series handled the transition to a new gameplay engine :
DDR PC
DDR Ultramix
DDR Extreme USA / DDR Festival
DDR Hottest Party
DDR Universe
DDR New Moves
DDR PC was the first DDR game to be developed for a non-sony console, and it was Abysmal. The Japanese version at least had a fuckton of exclusive songs, but the American version is unquestionably the worst DDR game ever published.
Ultramix was the first DDR game developed outside of Konami Japan, and even though the developers were fans of DDR, and obviously knew what they were doing, the game just didn't feel "right". The timing was weird, the whole engine felt "laggy", and the stepcharts felt so alien to Japanese players that most of them were changed when they were ported to Festival.
DDR Festival was meant to be a reboot of the series, and people shat all over it. It kept the same gameplay engine, but the rest of the game was re-written. Everything was in Japanese, and menus and song select felt clunky, and there were only 4 new songs, with the rest of the songlist consisting of songs from the Ultramix series, packaged with new stepcharts. It also incorporated a ton of crap that nobody wanted, including Eyetoy modes, and a hidden song that Konami didn't tell anyone how to unlock. This is generally consisered the worst canon DDR game.
Hottest Party was badly received, because it downsized the gameplay in a couple of areas, getting rid of Speed mods , and sacrificing doubles mode in order to develop a Wii-mote gameplay mode. The songlist brought in a new cast of Konami Original artists, and although some of them are now very popular, nobody liked the idea of a bunch of new people coming in, and making cover songs of popular music. The Hottest Party boss song was not only the most hated boss song in the series, but it's almost impossible to beat in Hottest Party itself, because of the lack of BMP modifiers, and the frame rate at which you have to try and read 60BPM streams.
DDR Universe was well received, and although it still felt more like an Ultramix game than a "real" DDR CS game, it still managed to squeeze in all the features and modes you'd expect in a CS game. All the new songs were great, and most of the licensed and commissioned songs were better than the songs that the Japanese series wasp putting out at the time. In hindsight, DDR Universe was a fantastic achievement.
DDR New Moves doesn't feel like a "real" DDR CS game, but I think it's certainly nowhere near as bad as some of those examples. It's probably on-par with Universe in terms of gameplay, and depending on how the possibility of future DLC turns out, we could be looking back on it as fondly as people look back on the original Universe.
Hopefully the Generation 17 games will be made by the same developers as New Moves, instead of pawning it off to yet another studio. I'm sure that now they have a "next-gen" engine completed, they'll have time to try and incorporate some of the lesser-used features of the PS2 engine, like Edit Mode and Netplay.

You say this in the face of DDR Freedom? Even if we decide that one doesn't count, I find it to be much more playable than DDR Gameboy versions.

By who? I love Festival. The Ultramix songs are awesome and generally got pretty great new charts that they really needed. These songs are so rare, which is a shame because they're really fun. I know hardcore fans hated the engine, and the US version for having a ton of repeats, which was a silly idea when many of them came from the previous game, but it never seemed to be utterly loathed. The MEMORIES thing was inane, yes, but most of the hate came from people expecting EXTREME JP, and they didn't get that. Also, there was no MEMORIES equivalent in Festival; that game didn't need a fast food chain to be fully unlocked.

Regardless, sales are the loudest voice, and the sales for PS3 in North America aren't exactly telling KONAMI to continue along this route, and the cancellation in Japan seems to indicate as much. NAOKI seems very interested in offering pure DLC games recently, much like how S+ is for iOS, and I would absolutely love an S+ on some other console with pads (though let's get some Doubles play and Challenge difficulty in there first!).
