On the topic of licenses, I'm surprised that after those nine are removed, DDR will still have 110 songs (109 if you don't count Kakumei and its X-Special being separate entries) that are credited in-between title screens and attract videos. Granted some are Konami Originals (like both versions of Orion.78), that's quite the reach of licenses, Touhou, Vocaloid, and classical remixes. I'm curious as to how much licensing freedom *BEMANI* actually has, and moreso how each game's respective sound director goes about deciding those songs. I imagine it could answer plenty of questions.

Side note,
I'm not sure which is worse: the gatekeeping, or the selective gatekeeping. Someday we've got to find a better hobby.

Anybody think that they are removing the licenses so they can replace them with new ones? The licenses are a big draw for newer players at my local Dave and Busters, so I'm thinking that they are gonna replace them with newer pop songs by the Weeknd, Chainsmokers, Lil Nas X, etc

Console version licenses have always been a lot more interesting with their song choices than arcade version games, so I wouldn't hold out for anything more than a bunch of forgettable 10-12s and maybe a 13 thrown in somewhere. They're not going to be asking the Prodigy or Pendulum, that's for sure.

Nobody is asking for it to be a 14+ on beginner dude. There are 5 difficulties, there is absolutely no reason we should ever have another Sandstorm situation.
