Extreme JP had a lot of repeats, though. 70 is about a good number for mostly new songs. |
Well, if there was only 70 new songs, why don't they bring back some of the songs like on SN2 JP?

The remaining SN2 songs are a given, and those will be new to US PS2. Extreme JP would have been good without those 40 worn out repeats.

That's the only reason why I want to import the JP DDR games. I want to be able to edit El Ritmo Tropical ....celebra carnival!

Maybe DDR X exclusively releashed on USA only. If there any Japanese version of DDR X, maybe it called DDR Y or something like that. BTW, i hope Da Capo appear on DDR X.

Most likely it will still be called X in Japan. (unless they change it to something silly like STR!KE)

The Extreme -> Festival and Extreme 2 -> STR!KE name changes made perfect sense. Obviously, Japan had already had a CS game named "Extreme", so it would be confusing to use that name. As for Extreme 2, with two other CS games after Extreme 1 and no arcade counterpart to the CS game, Extreme 2 would probably have been an odd direction to go.
Changing X however, wouldn't really make too much sense. Unless they wanted to specifically call it "Dance Dance Revolution 10th Anniversary Edition" or something.
EDIT: 911th post. Conspiracy?

Since this mix is a deviation from the SuperNova series it's logical to think that if there is a Japanese counterpart to this mix it'll have a different name. But maybe they'll have fun with it...
Dance Dance Revolution X
Dance Dance Revolution Y
Dancing Stage Z

The Japanese game probably will have a different name, because we were saying it's been 10 years and it's the 10th game in the US. However, for Japan, it will be 2009 and they've had a lot more releases.
Y would work, IMO. If it's X plus another character, that would imply superiority, which won't look good.

I think the main reason that konami has been reluctant to move DDR onto the PS3 has to do with the non-regionalization of blue ray discs. The US is now in the same region as Japan, which will make it easier for us to import games from each country
. Even despite theyre being "regions", many of the blue ray discs and games relesased are region-free and can be played on any blue ray player/PS3. So many people will just buy the Japanese release (and the US version if only for the licenses), leaving Europe out of the picture, with a loss of sales in that market. Even though many Europeans import DDR games from the US and Japan anyways, and after the whole SN2 arcade fiasco, that was a major blow to potential konami sales and I wouldnt be surprised if konami snubs the entire European market if they switch to the PS3 and the next series of DDR games. Sorry Europeans, but Konami really hates you. With that being said, it really all comes down to money and they are still trying to grab the biggest potential market share out there.
Of course this is just my opinion, but keep in mind that the only goal of any business is to make money.
Now to get back on topic, anybody looking forward to playing Senses on DDR X?

I've been wanting to play that song ever since it appeared for the 32541324341353th time on the Ultramix/Universe games.
...seriously, I've never heard the song or played it.

They better cross over that song to PS2. That or stop repeating it on Universe.

I don't get it though - how is selling US and/or Japanese copies of DDR to Europeans going to make them any less money? In fact, why wouldn't it make them even more money?

Besides the leftover songs from SN2, I'd like to see the following songs show up in DDR X:
DEAD END (which would most likely show up)
BRILLIANT 2U (Orchestra Groove)
Genom Screams
19, November (needs more Ultramix)
Brilliant R・E・D
ska a go go
...and, after Freckles' appearance in SN1US, and Angelus' appearance in SN2, for a new licensed song, FLOW's GO!!! (AKA Naruto's 4th opening) ...though that's not likely to happen.

I think their just gonna add the songs thats still on DDR. Brilliant R・E・D has a good chance at being in it because it was orignally going to be in DCE but didnt. Genom Screams was already in KONAMIX, but I can see that also, BRILLIANT 2U (Orchestra Groove) was already in DDRMAX, so why add it again?
GO!!! in DDR....No...but since they added Death Note in DM/GF, it could be in that
