VD is a different kind of hard, but thats because VDO makes sense. Paranoia Reolution is the new DEGRS. 360 BPM SPINS! YAY! Who likes this kind of stuff?
Hah. I remember how people were complaining how "VDO MAKE NO SENSE!!!11!11!" right when it came out. X4, it'll be the same thing. "Fade Out

I actually kinda came out of hibernation to post about X3, you never saw me personally say that because I wasn't here to say anything about X2 :p Also unless I'm mistaken VDO is just crossover heavy at a high speed for most of its stupidity, no constant spinning like Paranoia Revolution wants from us.

"DDR-ing regularly again!~" |
Okay, so after coming back home, I come back to the following:
-Immature arguments on using the bar - eh, it happens
-Magic Parade lyrics - THANK YOU SO MUCH Nighttime, now have you figured out the ones to Private Eye, that's the other one I was working on last year XD
-Paranoia Revolution
and it's a 19! - Mindblown, but personally I think I might be able to pass that one if I worked at it. VD
looks like a 50:50 chance song for me because I'd choke the speedups.
Did I miss much? haha

Did you get a video of the chart? Unlike me, who forgot to record London Evolved Ver.B DP-

For reference, ver. B step count is 644 / 33:

For some reason, I kept getting ver. A almost every time I attempt this song. I still haven't seen ver. C yet.
My best run here, ver. A step count is 589 / 2:

That word you're using. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I feel like this song has more feeling that DDR has changed rather than PARANOiA Revolution.

Re: BAR PLAY.
"Let's see you bar play THAT."
Apologies that my recorder is kind of retarded sometimes.
Re: Private Eye
I can try to decode that a little later this weekend. Shouldn't be too hard. Going for full version, I presume? ;)
Re: 18-19
charts
I'm kinda with the "real stages max at 17" argument here. About the only three exceptions that I take seriously are VD
, POSSESSION
, and 888
. PARA Revolution, awesome song as it might be, is sadly no exception. In fact, I may just end up whoring that one on
, actually.
EDIT: There is a valid difficulty range there, and those few shining examples prove it. Konami just hasn't gotten around to really tapping that potential yet. I'm sure lots of people felt the same way about most of Club Version's "CATASTROPHIC" charts at the time those were out. And what do we have to say about stages like that NOW?
Re: X3 vs. 2nd Mix overall
Okay, so it's not the complete smash-hit-blockbuster. Compared with what, X2?! Holy shitbricks, X2 is the new EXTREME. What did you expect?! Considering that X3 is a follow-up of THAT, I'd say they didn't do too badly overall, and I was already beyond excited to FINALLY see all of the EVOLVED songs in an Arcade mix. The 5-day crossovers thing was cool, too. I are srs envy.
Although a little part of me still wants to find whoever created the charts to A Geisha's Dream (Ruffage Remix), The Island Song, and Curry Up, and kick their face so hard that they'd have to start brushing their teeth through their anal cavity. If you're trying to make SEXY PLANET, you're FAILING HORRIBLY AT DOING SO.

Here's my personal ranking of the current hardest DDR charts right now (on passing difficulty, not scoring difficulty):
5) Valkyrie dimension D-
- Barely a 19, and only because of the ending crossovers. It's missing the huge 480 BPM 8th stream, the bunch of Tell jumps in a row, the HDV
-style crossovers, and the crazy jump in the middle of the ending from S-
. It's still a notch above the other 18s, though.
4) Valkyrie dimension S-
- There's all four of the ridiculous chart elements above in here, but for the most part they either come in bits and pieces with a lot of non-19-level stuff in between, or they're comparatively easy to BS through (or both).
3) Pluto Relinquish D-
- Should be bumped up to a 19. Definitely harder than both Vdim
charts. Compared to Vdim D-
's ending stream (the only thing really making it a 19), PR D-
's ending streams are 8% faster (compare PS to PSM) and significantly longer, and it's almost impossible to BS.
2) Possession D-
- The vast majority of the chart is designed to drain your stamina with few to no rest stops, just in time for those extra wide crossover streams at the end, unique to Double Play. It is much more tiring than any of the previous three charts.
1) Paranoia Revolution
, both Single and Double (tied). Compared to something like Pandemonium
from ITG, this song's harder. Both songs have basically zero rest stops the whole way through, but this song tops it off with a selection of absurd crossovers, jackhammers, and 16th notes, all at 360 BPM.
To rank these charts, I played them all on Stepmania, on pad no bar 0.5x rate. Possession D-
and ParaRevo
(both charts) were the only three that I could not pass on 0.5x rate. I ranked them based on how hard it felt to pass on 0.5x rate, which should scale up to 1x rate for the superboss players.
5) Valkyrie dimension D-

4) Valkyrie dimension S-

3) Pluto Relinquish D-

. It's on Stepmania though since I'm in the US.

Personally, X3 is my favorite Mix. Which happens to be broken somehow at the moment so I can't play it anymore, lol.
Has the best selection of songs personally.
And yes any 19ft chart is going to be BS whatever way you look at it. If it wasn't full of BS then it wouldn't really be an 19. Simple.
Pity PASELI isn't available outside of Japan (I believe) so I can't try some of the Oni charts for now. But I'm sure they'
ll get unlocked later on.

PRevo
and TMEvo
was expected. Some people predicted that PRevo's
chart would hit 19 on the X-scale and it did. It's almost going to be like the same reaction people had with PSMO 10 years ago. But, it was surprisingly that someone got PFC on it. Maybe around 10-15 years from now, those boss songs would be beatable. I mean doesn't anyone want a better yet harder challenge? Perhaps they got what they deserve.
As much as I want to complain about
charts at 18-19, I would just say that there might be more of this in the future games. So prepare yourselves for the worse to come.
Perhaps a 20 chart

Background is cool but I kinda find it a bit distracting especially when this EES requires a Perfect Full Combo. Very awesome job Dr. D.

"Keep the frequency clear." |
IMO, PRevo
is harder than VDO. If we compare the chart, the 480 BPM 8th streams on VDO are quite short. The chart mainly runs at 180 and the 16th is quite short and reasonable. The jackhammer at the end part are short and the 16th crossover is a little variations from HDVO. Yeah, it's 19, but it can be considered an easy-to-medium 19.
In the other hand, PRrevo
runs mainly on 360 BPM, which makes it slightly harder to read. There's a long bunch of 360 BPM 8th streams and 180 BPM 16th streams with little rest points. The jackhammers spread randomly across the chart make it even worse, and I'm quite impressed that KONAMI managed to add 16th on 360 BPM part, which is quite inventive. Despite the chart match the beat of the song quite nicely, those features make it a medium-to-high 19.
And I can see in future that PRevo
will take a long time to be A'ed just like how Mei takes years to be cleared.

In the other hand, PRrevo

And I can see in future that PRevo
