Huh, they have the license selection set up very interesting...Defaults to SUPER EUROBEAT? Then it has all the western licenses at the top, along with ETERNITY, and then I assume the Japanese licenses and revivals.

^ That's how it was set up during the location test, IIRC.

That's how it is in the European version. It counts the Eurobeat songs as being "western" songs.

Why is Paranoia Survivor Max's video stretched to 16:9? It's supposed to be 4:3. I wonder did they do this for all the background videos in the usa version? I know the japan version didn't do this for the IIDX videos right?

The videos to the new songs aren't stretched to 16:9. They almost fill the screen, but don't quite reach the edges, either . I think the game's resolution is 16:10, and the videos are 16:9

No, the (Japanese, at least) game is 16:9. It looks like they cropped a little bit vertically. Then maybe stretched it a little?

Or maybe Konami had the EX2 videos in widescreen to begin with, but we never got them.

Since it's 20, November over in Japan, perhaps that stage that looks like the Let Them Move/Keep On Movin'/20, November -DDR Version- banner may be available. It's yet to be seen played during any stage thus far, so maybe today is that day?

As far as DDR X in concerned, the videos from EXTREME 2 are still 4:3 and some cropping and stretching is used on them for the widescreen cabinets. SOME of the new videos have exclusive widescreen versions but not many, the rest of the new videos are also only in 4:3.

Isn't X2 supposed to be released in the US in December?

it is coming out in december... but as it is, would you expect the location tests to be updated this close to release? Or would you expect the fixes to have been implemented in the final product?

I mean, if they HAD patched it they'd likely have found more bugs but at the same time they did have to get it ready for release. So they'll fix the immediate bugs of drifting and hopefully the machine freezing momentarily, and then they'll roll out the final release with patch discs/updates later on if necessary. Not the best system but it'll work, I'm sure.

Thing is, the bug has been known since August and HAS been reported since August. Three months down the line and we find out it's still not fixed, doesn't ring a good tone to be honest.

patch discs won't work - remember SuperNOVA's patch disc? It was not deployed to every SN, and secondly running the disc would brick some SN boards

I don't know, I'm just really hoping it all works out. Both with X2 and the incoming (still waiting though) Supernova that probably isn't patched but I'm not sure if I want it to be now...

I thought I posted in here, but guess not (been a while).

I found a Japanese X2 cab over here (Sydney), but because it's just in a small private arcade and i'll never get linked so the sorts, will there ever be a way to unlock all this content later on (like DDRX US did). I'm not sure if DDRX JP had a unlocking system like the US machines did.

[Word I don't know here] Candy by Risk Junk is probably my new favorite song. Smoooch and Shes my wife are excellent too. Pity the machines pads are sub par however. But it's nice to try new content.

DDR X had unlock codes that worked just the same, JP or US. X2, not sure. Seems at the moment it's only on E amuse, but still, X2 in aussie? Is it at a timezone arcade? Or elsewhere?
