"Secret Agent"
DDR for PS3 and Wii (PAL version) now added with subtitle.

DDR for PS3 = DDR New Moves while DDR for Wii = DDR Hottest Party 4.

So, why Konami didn't add any subtitle for USA version ?

I guess Konami was "collapsed" when making USA version.

They said it was supposed to be a "reboot" of the series, which it hardly was.

"Give me a steady beat."
In the last few years the word "Reboot" has gone from being a genuine attempt to revive something and breathe new life into it to a cheap attention-getter. In Hollywood, it's gone meta with them rebooting reboots!

IIDX is a reboot of beatmania,
XG is a reboot of Gitado,
Hello! is a reboot of pop'n music,
The DanceDanceRevolutions were DDR games without a subtitle.

Well, with regards to AC, DDR X is a reboot of DDR, especially if the next game is X3. But yes, DDR PS3 is hardly a reboot, and more like a stab in the throat.

How is DDR X a reboot?

I would certainly hope they keep making the 9-key series. Rebooting is taking an existing idea and re-imagining what it could be but it doesn't require killing off the original in the process. Even after IIDX came out the original beatmania series (and the wayward beatmaniaIII series) continued for a while. Konami just announced new games for the original DrumMania and GuitarFreak as well. That seems to be their thing. I'm going to call it the Hello! series for lack of a better way to differentiate it. Time will tell where Konami decides to take it.

I suppose DDR has already gone through this phase with the Solo series, but that didn't last very long (a shame). Maybe they should try again. What's a good way to reimagine DDR without simply adding more arrows to the game?

Konami has announced that the GFDM V-series will end on V8, which have lead many to speculate that the Konami will be ending support for the original series. In any event, Konami clearly has shifted their attention away from the original series and is likely abaondoning it.

I feel 'spin-off' is a better way to say it than 'reboot', since 'reboot' to me symbolizes a takeover of the old, but it may just be a semantics argument.

I think the best example of a good reboot is DDRMAX?

"Give me a steady beat."
I suppose that's the closest the main series has gotten to a reboot.

Speaking of that, has anyone heard any news about DLC or is that just old news?

No one has heard anything that I know of. Konami also hasn't said anything on the matter. I believe te DLC is dead along with the game. Let's hope this years release will show promise

As far as DLC for DDR PS3 goes, nothing out of the two(three if you count the free pack they gave away) DLC packs that's up on the PS Store...

In my opinion, i see a "change" of style for DDR as this:

DDR #mix --> DDRMAX

DDR Extreme -->DDR SuperNOVA

DDR X --> DDR X2

As for reboot, this is what i think it looks like:

DDR #mix --> DDRMAX (Many features were introduced in MAX that was never there in the earlier versions, like groove radar, freeze arrows, nonstop mixes, challenge mode, introduction to red a.k.a BOSS songs and the ES and EES system, etc. etc.)

DDR SuperNOVA 2 --> DDR X/X2 (Significant change is well...ANNOUNCERS, but also the addition of Shock Arrows, X-Edits, Xmixes for DDR X, but X2 COMLPETELY changed the entire layout of the music selection screen, probably the first DDR to have so many unlockable and exclusive songs through e-amuse, oh and let's not forget the ARCADE CABINET DESIGN).

Yyyyyyup Neutral

"Not going through this again"
Konami better be fishing out more DLC. They announced the DLC in the first place and they need responsibility to update and release as much music packs as possible. If they can't then we know they're useless. Konami seriously needs to think before starting

Besides, even though this game looks bad, I am buying this to support DDR and I wanted to try out the move features on there (well I have got the PlayStation Move pack on my birthday). I shall be picking this up this Saturday not Friday due to work. If not in stock then I shall order it online and recieve it in the new week.
Whether you like it or not I am still here.

Just saw a Youtube video of someone (in Germany i think) doing an unboxing of DDR: New Moves 14.5 hours before the release date. He got is shipped to him through amazon.com so if anyone of you guys ordered it through there then you should be getting your game by now, if not (or if you have absolutely no interest in it), then the game should be coming out tomorrow/today (whatever your time zone is at the current moment).
