What combo are we talking about here? The dance points?

only quoting since this will be on the next page.

we're talking about oni mode combos. which as far as i know in AC have never included greats in combos. i know for a fact up through SN2 doesnt.

They do count in SN 1

I never noticed Extreme's Oni course didn't count Greats in the combo. Rather odd.

I can second that when we had a local DDRMAX2, the greats did indeed add to your percentage. 50% worth of what perfects are.

am i the only person that remembers what the word combo means? AeronPeryton pointed out that Al was right about dance points and raw EX score in oni mode on extreme, but added that oni mode didnt add greats to your combo. daiz said "yes they were", meaning he is saying that your combo is affected by greats, which it absolutely is NOT, which i pointed out. daiz then posted a bunch of videos supporting EXACTLY what i said, that being that greats dont effect your combo in oni mode, all because he wanted to show greats add to the dance points/percentage. al, you said that you can second greats effecting EX score, which is NOT combo, and isnt what was being discussed, it was just taken that way because only me and Aeron seem to know the difference between your combo and EX score.

yes, greats are worth half of a perfect for your raw EX score. thats not the point. daiz said they add to your combo when they CLEARLY do not. also, even on max US, 7th, and extreme jumps are only counted as 1 in oni mode.

simply put, if you FC a course in oni mode, in any game, and add up your marvs and perfects (or just look at your perfects in the case of max US and 7th mix) its the same number as your combo. check this out.

at the end of this course i had 1164 for a max combo despite the 16 greats
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a111/N00b_Saib0t/12-11-07_0242.jpg

at the end of this course i had 1676 for a max combo despite the 122 greats, not to be confused with the 4629 EX score.

Ah and you said you know for a fact that greats don't affect your combo up to SN2 which I do know that in SN1 they do count because if you FC the Supernova course up to Toxic, your combo is 666, no matter the number of greats you receive. So impart, we were both partially wrong/right.

i'm going to look into this, dig through my personal picture files and the internet because i'm like 99% sure i have seen evidence that says otherwise, possibly only in certain circumstances though. i've played beforu for u, happy hardcore, naoki feat. paula terry, and i think trip 5 on SN and SN2 machines, i noticed weird lifebar behavior but not combo behavior.

i will do my research, and report back within 24 hours to claim partial victory or complete defeat in regards to the SN oni engine.

This is actually right. And if I remember correctly, GREAT still counts toward a combo count SN1-2. Max2 and Extreme left your combo count the same should you make GREAT steps.
So in my brief return, I am going to slowly but surely work on a new simfile mix called TEMPEST. Still workin' on it. Preview -->

Sorry for being out of the discussion, but did anyone notice that RDA songs should have proper "BG" videos? As is in MEI, the beatmania video is put into the screen on the stage instead of replacing the dancers, also the same for Poseidon(kors k mix).
(note that it seems unique, and fits to the music pretty nicely)
I kinda liked VD's "bg" video.

New event is a parody of Gambare Goemon.

Hear's a comparison.

Fudge PiX, it is about flippin' time someone uploaded Zero with his accessories.
Someone showed me his wings previously but it's so fun to watch them in motion... thanks ultra~ x3

... no, in all honesty, yay for the return of PiX.
Still waiting on Akira.

The next event... well, just going off the name sounds fun.
I wish they'd've finished posting the character popularity rankings somewhere. Ah well.

Maybe there will still be one more round of hidden songs left over, since that was how it went with the other event, yeah? We can hope, at least! There are still some very excellent Universe 3 songs to pull over (as well as some not so excellent but oh-so-lovable ones. freshmagicgroove anyone?).

How many songs do we know of that are in the game so far vs. how much the said are in the game? I'm curious to know how many more songs we still haven't seen.

We're already over the promised number of new songs. I can't remember exactly how many it was, but we counted and noted that we were about to pas it, when we got Gold Rush.

We know that there are definately new foreign language versions of old songs still to come, because of the song ID bug that accidently made 2 of them playable. I imagine there'll be more than just 2 of them, and I doubt they'll be the final unlocks.
