It's in the description, (Marvelous+OK x3)+(Perfects x2)+(Greats x1)

If you add it up, I won that Break Down match by 1 perfect.

Oni scoring in DDR EXTREME Happy

Actually wasn't Extreme's oni scoring 2 DP for each marvelous and 1 DP a perfect?

Don't get me wrong, I love the new DDR scoring system since SN2. It's just not fair in a tournament unless you think 20 perfects and 1 great is worse than 40 perfects PFC.

Fuck that, I don't get why Konami decided to give greats a disproportionately higher score penalty than perfects based on the judgement windows

Well, do you know what your score would really be if it were like ITG or Oni scoring?

Players like me would be struggling to get 970,000 points on songs up to level 13 while barely AAing some songs 15 or higher. Average players wouldn't even be able to AA any songs.

This is because DDR has a much stricter marvelous window than ITG's fantastic window. In short if you make the perfect window half as much as the marvelous window and then the great window half as much as the perfect window, your going to see some really low scores.

Example, look at my new video "dj TAKA's Lounge," I nearly PFCed the whole course yet only got a 980,495.

For courses, you generally need to score 1 grade higher than you think you would. So to AA a course you need to get roughly the equivalent of an AAA normally.

With the course scoring, even Dr. D's Max 300 PFC with 20 perfects only comes out to 988,030, still short of an AAA.

I'll have to compare these with the top 30 at my local (local mode) machine, see how the Australian DDR scene compares with the AP region in general. I do know that none of the songs with special remixes are anywhere near the top 30, save perhaps for Dazzlin' Darlin'. I also know the list is usually topped by Xepher (meh) and Smooooch (rightfully so)

Well, I'm back from gallivanting in Box Hill and here's what I found:

1. Xepher (15)
2. A
3. Smooooch (3)
4. Doll (21)
5. Super Driver (5)
6. Everytime We Touch (17)
7. Sunkiss Drop (12)
8. Max 300 (13)
9. Saber Wing (30)
10. Second Heaven (11)
11. Only My Railgun (1)
12. Funchikan Candy (20)
13. Captain Jack (25)
14. DeltaMax (29)
15. Dam Dariram (9)
16. More More More
17. Butterfly X-Edit (8)
18. Flowers (10)
19. Healing Vision Angelic Mix
20. She is my Wife
21. Pluto
22. Blind Justice
23. Tabibito
24. Zero (18)
25. Exotic Ethnic
26. AA
27. Pluto Relinquish (23)
28. Holic
29. Curus
30. Afronova

Not sure how you guys would interpret that, but for me there are very few surprises. I'd say that about 80% of it reflects Australian DDR habits (although without Love Shine unlocked there's only so much it can emulate). I'm amused that A, which Japan seems to have moved on from long ago, is consistently making its way to the top slots on any machine in Australia. That Smooooch and Super Driver share the same rankings on both lists amuses me. I'm surprised Curus made it at all, but Pluto's semi-understandable (since it's easy padding to get to Kimono Princess)

I was saddened that none of the songs that unlock remixes were up there, but my understanding from friends and other dancers there is that If You Were Here's remix would be played a hell of a lot more if we had it unlocked.

Finally, I can't help but shake my head that so many seem to clamor for "more japanese music in DDR please" on Facebook, yet completely ignore Rin To Shite Saku Hana No Gotoku and the X2 Console songs, if this is anything to go by.

I'll post these for Cybernet (aka paranokia)

That's probably the best audio we got for it as of now.

Do we still need a video of mei double difficult? Cause I got one and can upload it if needed.

edit: Just realized he already posted them in DDR X2 work thread, Tongue my bad.

Yes they were. At any rate, Marvelous is not meant to be perfect timing, it's meant to be above and beyond. Konami realized by the time you got to Extreme, it wouldn't be unheard of to make a PFC on a course, but you still need some grade to determine variations among the best of the best.

The grading system could be worse. Could be Extreme 2/Str!ke where you had some strange combination of a FC + DP system to get an AA. And, at least the score is a reflection of how well you did, as opposed to the pre-Supernova days.

what the hell versions of DDR are you playing? oni mode is retarded on CS, but in AC oni has NEVER included greats in your combo. even then, CS never let greats count toward combo in oni mode until extreme 2.
