Naoki is asking people on Facebook now if they want the next DDR release to be a download title (XBLA/PSN). I think it would be a great idea if the features are set in place, in addition to having a lot of DLC in the pipeline.
If they can commit to updating and managing the game then I see no problem other than cost which really shouldn't be a concern.

Remember when Naoki put up a Facebook post asking for opinions on a possible arcade version of Dancemasters? :{

If the DLC is anything like the amount that DDR S+ is getting, I'm perfectly fine with it; but please, if it was to come out, make it the same release date in the UK as the US. Also - EDIT MODE & DOUBLES PLAY.

One can always hope. Roll Eyes

Well something needs to be done. They're losing alot of support because of the lack of content on this past release. They need to get back on track fast!

It's not lack of content. It's lack of appropriate difficulty. Over half the game is just "nerfed." I mean, the hard-but-not-super-boss range of songs (in volume) is always directly proportionate to a DDR title's popularity. Case in point? Any "what's your favorite mix" thread, ever. DDR 2010 has too-easy songs, some boss songs, and while there's a few gems like Wicked Plastik in there... there's really less than 10 songs that are real "grippers," you know? Compared to what, 50+% of Extreme 2, or either SuperNOVA title?

Modern DDRs just make me want to slap $70 on an X-Box (classic) and the long-forgotten Ultramix games (2-4, anyways). Maybe if I'm ultra lucky, it'll be a box with the DLC for it! It's cheaper AND more immediate than waiting for it to release on PS3.

Oh yeah... that's why I'm not just playing my PS2 versions... HD lag. Funch! Sad Maybe I should just drop that $70 on an old TV, instead!

The interface was all right, it is just that what is missing is RISKY mode, which already appeared in an import arcade release of DDR. I wish there was a mods DLC if Konami were to make one.

To be fair, DDR PS3 came out ofter X2 in the US. It will also be like that in Europe, with NM releasing in March iirc.

To be honest, the only things I feel that are missing are the groove radar, the 1-20 foot rating, and maybe even a good mission mode like SuperNOVA's stellar Master Mode, and Edit Mode. Now if tose could be added as downloadable features, that would be great.

But then that would only sell to a small amount of people who already have the pads. And not even regular ones, the 360/PS3 specific ones. It would be a huge flop.

Unless theres a large market for people who only play with controllers.

that's a good point. I was originally thinking that would be a good idea, but unless they sell the pads separately in stores it may not work, However, it could work for those who already have a dance mat. They can download the game from the PSN store so they won't have to worry about wasting 15 or so bucks on a plastic mat. And for those who are new and don't have one can buy the bundle from the stores.

While this is something totally outside BEMANI series and anything related to DDR...

Wondering if any of you realized there is a PS3/XBox360 game also titled Catherine.

I am not going to directly display the video here because of the M contents it involves.

Quote
Synopsis

Catherine is the Persona Team's first hit for the HD screen. Smooth animation, beautifully designed characters and the exciting system will throw gamers into the world of pink nightmare. No matter whether you are the loyal boyfriend or the cheater, you won't escape the charm.

Vincent is a wishy-washy salaryman a little too afraid to be tied down. Facing pressures from his long time girlfriend Katherine to get married, all he wanted to do is to escape. And one night, he succeeded - in the arms of the beautiful young Catherine.

Katherine isn't the type to miss details, and no matter how hard Vincent tries to hide things, he just can't help but feels that Katherine knows what happened and is holding a grudge. To make matters worse, the young Catherine just won't let him go.

Every night, Vincent falls into an abyss where he has to climb multiple flights of stairs to escape, and strange sheep-men go after him, seeking to kick him into the hellhole. If he ends there, it'll be a game over, Catherine and Katherine will tear him apart. And soon he can't tell between reality and the nightmare..

I am starting to lose my trust in Konami. They owe us so much DLC and haven't put it up. I will not forgive them unless they put up a Universe Series pack with Concertino In Blue.... LOL JK, I still believe in ya' Konami!

They don't "owe" us anything. But they're not going to sell the next DLC-based games very well if all we can expect is one big drop of content and then nothing else.

I agree with you. What I meant by owing us was that they promised 2 DLC dates and only delivered content on 1 of them.

We are expecting a second set of DLC anyway, due to the number of DLC folder images found on the disc.

I wouldn't be too surprised if people had to wait until March/April.

You're right, there were a ton of images, I remember seeing them. Still anxious to see what those "I <3 DDR" packs are. Hopefully stuff other than repeats....

How is it obvious we got two week's worth of DLC?

- Six packs (DDR S+ DLC is usually three at a time)
- Two SuperNOVA 2 packs at the same time
- First release date was air-balled.

Not proof, but it makes sense.

Thing is, we were never intended to see those images. Content on the disc is no promise of anything (Just go resource diving on almost every single video game ever released in history). For all we know the plans to use those particular images was scrapped due to time or money. We'll just have to wait and see. At this time there are no planned DLC releases for DDR.

I'm hoping that means they're taking the DDR S+ approach of just releasing DLC packs when they're ready with no announcement instead of there being no more packs.
