Nah, it was consistent for 1st through 5th mix, they changed it for 6th to Extreme, and finally SuperNOVA+ it has been the same. It's not _that_ bad

Reviews!
Air Crash (Another): Pretty decent overall. I didn't like the pattern in the middle that mirrored the drums, and the extended holds could have been more interesting, but overall the steps flowed together nicely. (8/10)
Battle 1: Not bad, but the chart doesn't really do anything interesting. And the song itself isn't very danceable IMO. (6/10)
Battle vs. Team Plasma: Very nicely done. It reminded me a lot of Heaven Is a '57 Metallic Gray, which is one of my favorite DDR charts. I liked what you did with the gallop section and what you did with the melody at the beginning. Everything flowed well and was overall just fun to play (9/10)
Cheap Shop: The song should have been at double the tempo IMO. It really hurts the chart. There are many spots where nothing was happening, and considering that this song had a lot of potential for some tricky rhythms and patterns I was disappointed. On the bright side though, what was interesting was charted pretty well. (6/10)
Diamond Dust Zone Act 1: The cut was weird - why would you cut it midway through the second loop? The Heavy chart was uninteresting, partly because it mirrored the melody almost to a tee, even when the melody was boring. The Challenge chart was better, but there were some awkward double steps and a few flow issues. The steps on the challenge were definitely more interesting though. (7/10)
Digi-Boy: Great chart. I really liked how you used jumps and crossovers. I thought the slowdown was a bit overcharted, however. And I have to take off a point for the horrendous sync :/ (8/10)
Drawcia Soul: I have to give you credit for bsing a heavy chart for a song with no concrete rhythm. The only thing I didn't really like were the freezes dring the first slowdown. The challenge chart was also very well made. I wish the song choice was better, but I'm not going to let that detract from the quality of the charts. (9/10)
Exec_Cuty Pump: This is a pretty standard "fast nine" chart. There are some odd jumps and a few awkward double steps, but other than that it's decent, if bland, nine foot fare. (7/10)
Exec_Hymm_Battlesphere (Finnel Extracting): I have the same complaints about this one as the previous one. Again, there are some doublesteps and jumps that I don't agree with. The main difference here is that the chart itself is a lot more interesting, with varied patterns and various rhythmic flourishes. This file is definitely of a higher quality than your previous one. (8/10)
Exec_Hymm_Battlesphere (Tyria Extracting): The Heavy chart on this one is a lot cleaner than your other two, and there are some very clever crossovers in the streams here that I liked a lot. I can't say I like your challenge chart as much. It starts out good, bu the ending is too random and technical for my tastes. Still a very solid simfile overall though, and probably one of my favorites so far. (9/10)
Existens: I'm hard pressed to find bad things to say about this one. The steps are almost perfect in my opinion. If I didn't know any better, I'd think this was a real DDR chart. The patterns were varied, the crossovers fit, the chaos was appropraite, and overall everything was used well. I'm a sucker for charts that are a variation on various parts of the song. You blended in each part seamlessly as you transitioned from the organ, to the bass, to the brass, to the drums, to your own rhythm. Very well-crafted. I'm impressed. (10/10)
Flashing Lights: The heavy was boring. The challenge chart was decent enough, but I found it to be a little repetitive. I realize that there isn't too much more you can do with this song, but still. It didn't grab me like some of the others did. (7/10)
Forest Funk: I really didn't like this one. The song was double the tempo that it should be for no discernable reason, it goes from really easy to really hard in an instant, the patterns were awkward, and honestly taps and doublesteps at 220+ BPM are NOT fun. Sorry. (5/10)
Gene Gadget: The sync wasn't great, but it wasn't the worst that I've seen. The heavy was uninteresting. It oculd have definitely used more than just straight eighth notes. There's a lot of interesting rhythms in the song and I felt as though they were underutilized. The challenge is a bizarre mixture of what the heavy way, what the heavy should have been, and what the challenge should have been. The steps and patterns by themselves aren't bad, but they could've been crafted better to the song. (7/10)
He Has No Face: The heavy was pretty interesting. The doublestepping here was definitely appropraite for the tempo and could make for some interesting spins, and the gallops were tastefully placed. The challenge was much more awkward, however. I really dislike eighth note freezes, some of the forced doublesteps were odd, and the streams really shouldn't have crossed over in my opinion. They don't really fit the song and the difficulty you were going for. (7/10)
Long Dream: On the heavy, I did NOT agree with a lot of your turns, especially the ones coming off of the freezes, and the gallops at the beginning. The repetition was interesting, but it wasn't really appropraite IMO. There could have been more variety. The jumps were also strangely placed, especially in conjunction with the doublesteps. The challenge was basically a harder version of the heavy and had all of the same problems I mentioned above. Not bad, but it ould have definitely been much cleaner. (6/10)
Own Little World: Eh. There were a lot of jumps that I didn't like, and I can't say I agreed with the steps during the verses. However, the steps weren't that bad. Unfortunately, the bad offsync marred the file for me, but you fixed it in a later revision so I can't complain too much
(7/10)
Paper Engine: The heavy was pretty decent. It had a few flow issues, mostly related to a few awkward turns and doublesteps, but I liked many of the patterns and how you blended many elements of the song together. The challenge was...awkward. Again, I liked your rhythms, but the paterns weren'tt all that great. There were a lot of strange turns and doublestpes in sixteenth note streams, which are definitely not fun at this tempo (they're usually not fun at any tempo). Pretty solid otherwise though. (7/10)
Quaternary Game: I personally though the Heavy was a tad undercharted. However, outsude of that the steps were brilliant so I can't complain. The challenge is much more charted, yet it doesn't lose the simple, understated charm that the song has. And really, the thing I like best about this file is how well put together it is. So many files this week have had patterns and rhythms that just didn't fit, and yet every pattern and rhythm in here felt...right. Kudos. This was definitely one of the best simfiles this week. (10/10)
Rainbow Road: Worst. Cut. Ever. I disagree with your decision to chart the melody on the heavy. It really didn't make for an interesting chart, and the parts where you decided to diverge from the melody felt out of place. The challenge was more interesting, but the chart wasn't cohesive. You tried a lot of ideas, but none of them really fit well together. Pretty mediocre overall. (5/10)
Rotterdam Nation '94: I have no complaints about this one. I liked the repetition in the patterns, the tastefully handled tempo changes, and the strategically placed jumps. It's not a 10, but it's pretty damn close. (9/10)
Special Stage (JP Version): Finely crafted. Pretty much everything I've said for a "10" song applies here. Not a step, pattern, or rhythm feels out of place, and if this were in a DDR game it would feel right at home. (10/10)
State of Emergency: I liked the Heavy chart. Some of the turns were weird and steps got a bit repetitive, but they definitely fit the song. Pretty much the same thing could be said for the challenge. Why do I feel like I'm writing the same review over and over again?
(8/10)
Still Alive: Did you really think this was good? The tempo drifted immensely throughout the song, the steps were boring, none of the rhythms followed the song, and overall this was a lot of potential wasted. Definitely the worst simfile of the week. (3/10)
Superman: This was another song that had a lot of potential but was marred by weak steps. The main issue here was that the stepping didn't flow. The constant doublestepping and repositioning makes this song pretty awkward to play imo. It's a shame, too, because the patterns weren't bad at all (although considering the style of music they should have been more on the offbeat). But the awkward charting really killed this one for me. (6/10)
The Justice Ray Pt. 3: This was another chart that was pretty much flawless. It brough back memories of Burning Heat, which has a really great chart. I especially liked what you did with the ending. It caught me off guard, but in a good way
. Keep up the good work. (10/10)
The Weekend: This was pretty bland. The steps fit pretty well, and there was nothing particularly wrong with the chart, but it does nothing to stand out. And the song you chose is pretty bad, no offence. :/ (7/10)
This Is My Destiny: Very good steps overall. My only issue is with the crossovers at the end. They flowed fine, but they probably would have been better used sparingly. Outside of that, however, I have no complaints. It's good to see some actual sanceable music during video game week. (9/10)
Title from Harvest Moon: Back to Nature: The Heavy on this was great. I liked how the steps didn't follow the song, but yet they felt right somehow. I don't really know how, but they did. The challenge was definitely overcharted, and some of the crossovers were a little strange, but it had a lot of the same feel that the Heavy did. So many charts this week had either rhythms that didn't fir or predictable karaoke steps, and it's great to see a song that was able to stand out among those extremes. (9/10)
Ultimate Ninja 4 Opening Theme: The heavy had a lot of rhythmic oddities that I didn't like, especially those triplets towards the end. The turns off the freezes were also kinda awkward, and the extended sixteenth streams felt really out of place. The challenge copies half of its steps from the heavy, and what isn't copied is essentially a sixteenth note stream. This isn't bad for a keyboard chart, but as a pad chart this definitely does not fit. (6/10)
Waluigi Pinball (SSBB Remix): Pretty good. The chart was exactly what I expected, but that didn't detract from the fun in the slightest. Not much else to say aside from that. (9/10)
Want You Gone: Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. The steps flowed really badly, with a lot of weird doublestpes and pattern changes. The chaos didn't fit, and the ultra precisise 32nd and 64th notes were inappropriate. The stops were inconsistently placed. I definitely would have used more and made them more regular. Pretty disappointing overall. I expected so much more from this chart. (5/10)
When the End: The song was beautiful, but it's not really all that danceable. And honestly I didn't like most of the step placements. The doublesteps weren't bad. In fact, for this song they were largely appropriate. However, abusing them really brought down this chart a lot for me. (7/10)
So overall:
+5 Existens
+4 Quaternary Game
+3 The Justice Ray Pt. 3
+2 Special Stage JP
+1 Battle Vs. Team Plasma

For Oni-91:
Primal Eyes: I feel bad for not playing this earlier, because this was legitimately one of the best simfiles I played this week. It was enough, in fact, to change my vote a bit. The steps flowed very well, even in that middle section which was criticized earlier. The chaos fit, and everything overall was just really well put together and a lot of fun. Great work
(10/10)
So change my vote to:
+5 Existens
+4 Primal Eyes
+3 Quaternary Game
+2 The Justice Ray
+1 Special Stage JP
