In training, it's still the Stepmana-like background.

Alrighty, thanks for answering my questions. And since I haven't heard anything on them... have Mii's been removed from the roster?

They're still there. There heads are the size of the regular characters so it does look a little bit different than before.

Three male costumes, three female costumes, and two gender neutral costumes. If it's one thing I've noticed is that they've really scaled back on the outfits this year, as every character only has two of them now. And the Miis don't wear the outfits of the characters no more either.

Alright, thanks. I was waiting to find out about that.
And only two outfits? That's disappointing... They (i.e., standard characters) had a good chunk in HP3. Not to mention you could juxtapose Mii's on their bodies which acted as outfits. Interesting...

And is there a new multiplayer mode or something? The press release hinted at it, but I kind of doubted it was anything brand new.

I'd be interested to see if the setup for 4 player support is any different this time.

There is a family mode, but as usual I don't have enough players to check it out like talking about. Apparently everyone is given separate sections of a chart to do and such, but like I said I don't know every detail to it.

Alright. I'll check it out on my own when I get the game. Thanks a lot for being so helpful in answering my questions. I appreciate it. I promise to give you a break now. ;P

Um... does the unlocking system still quicker as HP3 ? Confused

I mean, i can unlock all songs by playing on Standard Mode.

Your English makes no sense. Neutral

The unlocking in this game is quicker than HP3 if you manage to AAA stuff on EXPERT.

Ya. Semakin baik Anda bermain, semakin cepat Anda membuka.

Standard mode is how you unlock everything now. Took me about three and a half hours to get all the songs and a little more time for everything else. That's if you AA/AAA practically everything you play since that'll meet all the Challenge requirements virtually every time.

All DDR games can have their own unique unlock methods but there should always be a "look, if I spend the whole week playing this thing, reward me" unlock system underneath whatever else there is. Glad that it seems to be coming back into style.

Agreed. One of the things I liked about the earlier DDR releases was that it just gradually unlocked itself as you played it. No ridiculous requirements or anything, just play it. It's probably why with the PS2 games I'm still kinda partial to Max and Max 2.

That's a joke, right? If anything, I think the MAX series has the worst unlock system. For me, playing 200 songs is the limit of a game's lifespan, and, as the last song usually takes 600-700 plays in those games, I know I'll never unlock it.

It's not 600-700 plays, it's 500, and 500 songs really isn't that hard to rack up. You could easily have done that between the year it was released and the next game. If it pisses you off that much, get an action replay. If you play 200 songs and call a game done, I hardly see why it'd be worth buying. Heck, I've played over 100 songs in a day before, does that mean I'm halfway done with the game? Oops

DDRMAX only had 5 hidden songs, though o.O

He probably means CS US.

DDRMAX2 US took like, no time to unlock, it was too fast, really. DDRMAX was fine, it's just a little weird that DROP THE BOMB (SySF. Mix) was the 500 song unlock, it was a little underwhelming, and the unlock previous to that was at like 250 songs. It didn't scale well. If there are consistent rewards up until 500 songs, I don't see why it's a problem.

Yeah, that unlock should've been at 350 or 375, not 500. But then again, if you're one to play it a lot 500 isn't all that hard to come by either. And while Max 2 might have been quick to unlock, it's slower quite a ways slower than HP1,2, and 3 if you're good at scoring.

And yeah, I was talking about the US CS games.

Yeah, that's the version I meant, and you summed it up a little better than I did. EXTREME has a good unlock system because of the constant unlocks after 5 songs. What I should have said was that a game needs a steady supply of unlocks.
