I find it funny how people still think the ratings above a 17 make any sense ever

Triple Journey Challenge (Single and Double) is maybe the best 18 ever made, and makes complete sense (rhythm and step placement). For me, both charts are perfect.

I've analyzed the video of MAX.(period) on DDR2014. The stage light blink is not following the challenge chart (old). It's either there's a new challenge chart, or its following the difficult chart (old). I don't have a preview of the old difficult (standard) chart yet. (Found none on YouTube)

AFAIK, the lights only follow the Heavy chart and Challenge chart when available. And in what video could you see the lights? They aren't showing in the two videos posted here.

The lights follows Triple Journey's Challenge chart, even when only Beginner, Light, Standard, and Heavy were available. So I still think a new Challenge chart for Max.(period) is a big posibility

I'd only hope a new Challenge chart isn't just something thrown together with shock arrows like Pluto the First

I'll be honest, now that you mention it... I do hope this happens. Something tells me that KONAMI never went full potato when writing charts like DEGRS, Valkyrie dimension Challenge, or Horatio Challenge from X US PS2. I want to see, for curiosity's sake, if they pull charts than can be classified as nayfear simfile material.

Do it, KONMAI, I dare you.

MAX. is a 20 on Challenge. It has a special 5th arrow you hit with your face.

Totally true, there's no evidence but my dad works for Konami. He wouldn't lie about these things.

"five minute white boy challenge"
It's also a 42 on Beginner, beating out the previous record of 38 held by Tsugaru Standard.

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.

i can't believe i didn't think of doing this lol, it seems like new challenge chart for MAX. (period) is confirmed, as well as possibly no challenge chart for EGOISM 440.

Are the pulsating lights reliable for determining if there's a challenge chart? I remember they led people to say that Nephilim Delta was going to have a crazy challenge chart with 16ths all over the place.

yeah, you can confirm it with all X2~ songs. NEPHILIM DELTA though, it was because most of the song is a nonstop 8th stream the lights never got a time to turn off so yeah. It's easy to prove the existence of a Challenge chart, but it's impossible to disprove because a Challenge chart that's extremely similar to the Expert chart may exist (looking at you SA charts).
