God though that means he'll play almost EVERY song on that machine... from basic to expert.

Actually no. Let's say the average song is 1:35, 1:35 * 3 = 4:15, but between selecting options, song, menus, etc, it can be as long as 10 minutes for a normal game (no extra stage). Lets say you get in 6 games an hour at this rate. That's 18 songs an hour. If you play for 24 hours straight, that's only 432 songs. Divide that among 3 difficulties, that's 124 songs, not even half (maybe a bit more than third) of the songs on the machine. In 1 hour I can get in about in about 8 games (I choose songs very fast). If I were playing say, on Supernova, I would have to play 12.5 hours before I've touched every song in the list on basic. Smile

At any rate, I should shoot for the world record, I could so totally do it.

They've put it upstairs where the SuperNOVA used to be in.

Where did they move the upstairs SN to?

Think this needs reposting before its lost on the last page, have they kept the old SN , the only SN thats actually loud and has at least one working side in london (that i know of) and is patched?

And im guessing still no news on the timing bug being fixed

No one's mentioned it to be yet and the timing drift is still present with people forcefully playing visually to get high scores AFAIK.

I think side-by-side vids of a common song between X2 and an ONSYNC mix (like EM2) would be better; anyone can get a string of greats and then claim it's offsync.

something like Trip Machine Love Mix or CSFILSM

It should be noted that the press release says nothing about e-Amusement, that tidbit was added by the person who wrote the article. There are likely no plans for e-amusement.

Let's just hope the drift issue got sorted out, otherwise the kind of reception this is gonna get will be similar to X.

"Oh god what I have dooooone?!"
I'm sure they'll fix the drift issue, if not at release, with a patch disc a couple of weeks later. But then that would be stupid. I mean this IS konami, but then they DID just go through the whole ordeal with X.

In any case, I'm sure having decent pads will make many of the players scream for joy all over again.

I found the pad on X decent. Very different but decent. It was more sensitive and i didn't got pad miss.
One other problem is that the arrow could be stuck sometimes, but i aw it fixed quickly enough (2min ?).
The feeling is different but that was good.

My only complain on X(EU) is the screen lag. So if the drift is still on on X2(EU)... meh.

Well, we'll see guys. I rather konami delay the release and fix all the problem than giving an uncompleted cab.

Wait just saw something...

Hitting the US this December according to Betson. You can read the press release here.
WHAT IS THIS ? HELL NO !

I through Konami stopped their contract with them after what happend to us with ths X cab in US/EU.
I'm even more scared now... if they fuck up X2 too i'm gonna get mad, really.

Solution: convince your arcade that Betson is crap (shouldn't be too hard, right?) and tell them to import from Japan Tongue

No but really, I wish we weren't constantly shafted. I haven't been able to play Doubles for over a week cuz all the machines I have access to in LA all have a crap side or two. And these aren't even Betson cabs.

I thought it was Raw Thrills that was mostly responsible for the shitpile that was DDR X, no?

a company called Partec made both US DDR X cabinets with instruction from Konami. this facility also makes RawThrills games. Betson distributes these games.

Konami doesn't have the facility and resources anymore to make and distribute their games in the US after they closed their arcade division here many years ago. Since Betson is the largest distributor, they are the only option for Konami and this won't be changing anytime soon.

@Silver Spirit: I believe so. Beston only distributed it where Raw Thrills actually designed the cabinet.

I'm worried about the step drift. It wasn't addressed in the press release. Nor was the screen lag. The screen lag should be fixed. No problem could be easier to fix.
Something tells me the drift is gonna be present in the final buildNeutral I just know it (of course if I'm wrong I'm completely cool with that)
