You know, this might be our one shot to get MAX. (period) outside Japan.

That would be amazing, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I've not checked, but is everyone and their mother on there yelling "So Deep and Max Period" as usual?
Edit: nowhere near as much as usual. Wow, shows how much people actually like them. Xepher is there a worrying amount of times.

I'd rather the opportunity was spent on good songs.

This is a little silly. When the background starts showing the steps, it just turns into a giant wall of PERFECT!!

Uh wow, that's just insane...the scoring system is just weird, especially when someone can get a double AAA

Why, why, why do people still want MAX.(period) in another game? The song itself is terrible and the steps are uninspired. I just... don't get it.
There are so many, much better songs people could be begging for...

Because we love the MAX series and it is incomplete without MAX. (period). That song is the essence of MAX. There are six songs in the MAX series and that's all there will be. I don't know what it is with Konami and six but in numerology 573 = 5+7+3 = 15 = 1+5 = 6 and 555 = 5+5+5 = 15 =1+5 = 6. Also, the EXTREME (CS) (JP) exclusivity makes it a must have.

Screw your numerology. MAX. sucked, that's why it never crossed the Pacific.

For being the essence of anything, Konami does a good job of not bothering to repeat it. In fact, it's the ONLY song in the "MAX series" to not show up in more than one game. There must be a reason for that... which I'm sure we'll never know. My guess? They realized the song sucked every way around. It really has no redeeming value to it.
"Why do you need..?" indeed.

I think a good reasoning would have been that MAX.(period) was said to be the hardest and "last" BOSS song for the "DDR series back when there was a rumor going around that Extreme was the "last generation of DDR", oddly enough it never showed up in the AC version, but only in the JP CS version...
...Back in those olden times, and when Youtube was around, many people wanted this song to be in a US DDR CS or AC because of it's exclusivity and just because it has that death run near the end (which oddly enough is now being put to shame by Pluto Relinquish and Dead End GRS and Valkyrie Dimension), and people just loved the whole "Why do you need...?" demonic-tone during the whole song, which also just goes back to the "last BOSS song" theory (hey even a part of PARANOiA's chart and sound can be heard 2/3's of the way in, with BGV and everything too, to "relive" the first DDR Boss song...)
Sooooo NOT having it in the US would suck to some players, yet HAVING it now would be completely irrelevant since we already have more KO's being put out and more will come in the future, plus the step chart isn't that hard if you think about it compared to DDR X2 AC's BOSS charts, so the song is just a normal, everyday boss song that just happens to be within the MAX series...

It does have redeeming value. It's called MAX. (period) because that is all it is. Just MAX. It doesn't need an over the top remix. It pushed the limits of DDR to breaking point which was the point of MAX. I don't know why Konami went the direction they did with MAX 300 (Super-Max-Me Mix) but they revived the point of the series with ΔMAX.

And take a look at the Play Score, it's over 990k, so this guy can get an AAA even if the criterion wasn't lowered to 975k.
On the other hand, if you get 26 greats on X2's scoring system, the score will be 979k.
I think this has something to do with the separated judgements of jumps.

just import extreme JP for god's sake. the rest of us shouldnt have to suffer because you dont have a 7 year old game.
also, you MIGHT have a point about all the numbers if max.(period) was the 6th max, but it was the 4th. max300 SMMM and FAXX came after it.

I don't think FAXX counts as a part of the MAX series. How could it? It sounds nothing like the MAX series. All the remixes sound similar and have key sounds that make it a MAX song. Just like the PARANOiA series and TRIP MACHINE series. They all have key sounds and rhythms alike while FAXX has absolutely nothing on common with the MAX series except for the name. Besides all that I don't think it should be forgotten anyway. How would you like it if only japan had Pluto Relinquish?

Didn't DM Ashura ask about this when he was in Japan? I forgot what Naoki and U1 said when he asked about it.
Also, Max 300 (Super-Max-Me-Mix) and deltaMax (which was completed as far back as 2006, I believe) are "commissioned" (and I'm using it a little loose) songs.

Even if they are commissioned they still fit the MAX series better than FAXX.

The point of MAX.(period), I thought, was that it was the end. Series over. DDR over. Done. End of file. Nothing more to see here. Period. Which wound up not being true in any sense.
No song "needs" an over-the-top remix. Some get one anyway. Most don't. MAX.(period), itself, is a remix -- it's a rearrangement of MAX 300. The chart, not so much the song, is over-the-top for its time.
The overall "point" of the Max series, if you want to try and declare such a thing, was to be the song, the one people could not pass. ... a point they broke in DDR Extreme, since The legend of MAX is overall easier than MAXX UNLIMITED, and probably easier than PARANOIA survivor MAX is. Unless you're going to try and tell me PSM is part of the Max series, not the Paranoia series... in which case, you are crazy and need to try again.
MAX 300 (Super-Max-Me Mix)... went the way it did because that is what they decided to do with it. I don't think any other reasoning is needed beyond that. It's also a remix of MAXX UNLIMITED, not MAX 300, but I guess that's not important.
If ΔMAX brings back the "point" of the Max series, why are there new songs in both of its debut games -- Universe 3 and X2 AC -- which are significantly more difficult?

Wow. Lol. I would never. All I can say at this point is that I'm just going to agree to disagree. I don't want to argue.
